I am really not impressed with the amount of wearable food items lately. I mean, I get it. Gourmands want ways to blow money, so making token shop/cash shop/millionaire center food items appeases them. But making those items ALSO wearable? So wardrobe peeps and gourmand peeps have to buy two? And let's not mention folks who are trying to get hoarder achievements, and others with treasures to fill. quietly waits for the token shop to restock again
(Obviously, I don't actually have a problem with Subeta. It's just a little complaint about how many items I have to buy. Don't say mean words at me I am a sensitive baby)
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
I agree. And it irks me that they are pushing so many edible items, but refuse readable ones still. Beanbag ? FOOD ! Plushie ? FOOD ! Wig ? FOOD ! Book ? You can either wear it, have it as a minion, or read it, cannot do more than one at a time.
I should be thankful, to be honest, since I don't hoard food and only work on the Gourmand for achievements [s]I am a terrible pastry chef, aren't I ?[s], but I read every book I can to Calavera.
The idea of clothing based on colorful food really appeals to me, but logistically it's an absolute a nightmare. I think I really prefer having items that stick to ONE function.
It's probably not something that's gonna change, but I feel you :p
We've been trying to make items that appeal to multiple people. By combining uses on items, we provide items to a larger range. Some people don't care about wearables, but want food. That's great. Some people only care about wearable. We can't just cater to one type of people, so we try our hardest to get a variety of things out without making a ridiculous amount of items.
Which are you referring to when you saying "refusing readable"? I'm more than happy to explain to you our choices of not making certain things readable. :)
It was just a general note from the previous board back a few months or so ! I do "understand" the reasoning, but to me it's made almost moot when everything is made edible. Your reasoning is to cater to more people, but you're denying some by not wanting to mix wearables/books or minions/books now. And I don't mean making books wearable, I meant wearable items that could be readable as well (as in, already made items).
I know. I drives me nuts when I have to buy multiple copies of a limited item. When its something restockable, I actually like it, but they never do that. Multi-use items are almost always limited items as well.

Eh I really don't mind. I just like that we have been getting pretty, realistic food items. They make great tc items u
Well, some of those items have been waiting to go out for ages. Those apple wigs I recently released? Were originally intended for Pete’s quest shop but he has so many items in there, I figured I’d put them in a shop that hasn’t had something new in a while.
Also, I meant to say readable instead of wearable in my post! I went back and edited it. If we made wearable items readable from this point on, then we’d have to go back and make every book wearable. We have so many books on site, that it would take artists ages to play catch up, because we have limited numbers of artists already and they are all busy working on different projects (events, games, etc).
I’m not sure which minions would fit as both minion and books?
I’ve been looking to spread some things we don’t normally have into shops (like those backgrounds recently as well as some wigs coming up ;)), so I can always try to push multiple use items out this way too. :)
let's just stop releasing items altogeher so you can catch up and finish your collections and be bored then leave subeta then it crashes and burns

You say you want to cater to more people, but that kind of implies that people just stick to one area of interest, like people ONLY want wearables, etc. Which doesn't seem all that accurate to me. Why not just make more items? The latest batch of food-wigs could've been split into a batch of food and a batch of wigs. Besides, what's the harm in making an item that some people don't care about? Even if some people ignore food, there are plenty of people who would buy them up. Not every item has to have a function that appeals to every user.
Not trying to come across as a jerk, but it seems like that would work better. Plus you'd multiply the number of items created with minimal extra work, since the food item images and wearable art is already done.
You aren't coming across as a jerk, don't worry. We want to cater to multiple people but we also don't want to release 395385 items to do so. To split up those recent wigs? The actual wigs would have to have item art done separately to get them done. By combing the food items with the overlays, it's making items for people their pets, those who use wearables, fills TCs, etc.
Also, I'm not saying this is a reason for it but honestly I bet it gets really boring for artists to just draw literal strands of hair for every wig or whatever. I think doing them as other items, like foods, gives them some creative choices they wouldn't get otherwise!
Yeah, really appreciated those backgrounds in the beach shack! And, yes would also appreciate multiple use items as less limited items, even if higher rarity or very expensive prices.
It just gets terribly frustrating when you want two of each apple, yet you can only buy something once every 12 hours, so when 2 items enter the token shop, and you want 2 or more of each, its simply impossible to acquire. If you're really lucky you might able to get 1 of each item, though often you can't get even get one.

i think its a good thing when items are multifunction. i'm pretty patient when it comes to stuff like that so i don't mind waiting around to snag a second copy for whatever i need it for (a lot of my pets have the same items in their TC as others)
i actually hope that the reverse gets implemented someday and we have the old wearables that are books become readable. i have a bunch of those laying around in my vault in case that happens
That's my plan for a set of wigs I'll be releasing in a generic shop this week, they will be higher rarity though not super expensive.
And I totally understand! That's why and I do restocks sometimes of just old Token Shop items, so people can get a chance to get items they missed out on before or need a copy of. :)
I would argue that most people don't just solely focus on pets OR food OR wearables, though. I collect plushies and beanbags mostly, but I also collect food, stickers, wearables, books, and so on. I think that's pretty common. So that's quite a lot of people who have to buy the same item multiple times. It's much more fun to buy multiple items than buy the same (expensive) item repeatedly.
And honestly, you don't necessarily need to release more items to make up for single-use items. Even though I want the food more than the wigs, it's not like I would care if they were only wearables. You're saying you want to cater to more people, but I don't really need or want every item to cater to me.
I feel like variety between items is more fun than variety within items, if you see what I mean. It's a really extreme example, but imagine if there was only one item on subeta and it had every function. Yeah, it would cater to everyone, but what's the fun of that?
Wait, no you wouldn't. Saying you'd have to make every book wearable is like saying you now have to make every edible item wearable. Just because some items are both, doesn't mean all items have to be could be readable. would never have to be made wearable. SIMILAR TO HOW was made edible was NOT made wearable.
As for minions: Hmm, I thought there were more renditions of the , which is readable.
For the record it wouldn't really be a big deal if it was relatively few items, but I feel like there's been a trend towards multiple-use items for a while now. They're always the terribly expensive or cash shop items too. Didn't really love buying 4 Kiteets.
I think you know what you are getting yourself into though if you collect a number of things? I know it's not completely the same thing, but I'm going to use one of the holiday shops as an example. For the Masquerade, we had a lot of items. People were upset that they wouldn't get enough tokens to buy every single item. We don't want the game to make the game easy enough to where you get every single item for every single event or holiday. If you know you'll be collecting every plushie for your collection, every food for your pet, etc, you know you'll just have to work harder to get those things. I don't think it's fair to say quite a lot of people buy same items for multiple things. (also a point of your newest post, it's just the order of how things have gone out. Some items sit in the directory for a bit before they go out, so it might look like we are focusing on all food/wearables right now, but those apple wigs have been done for a few months we just didn't want to overload Pete's shop)
With books, there are a lot of books on site I can easily see people requesting to make wearable though because of the subject, the description, a number of things. Also, we recently made Fable readable, I believe! Those other minions are great examples of what should be suggested on this boardp so and I can fix them!
Why are people complaining about more items being released? I don't get it.
A simple answer to that, similar to how it can be addressed with current edible/other items that won't be made wearable: "We simply won't make everything wearable." But denying making books readable for things that can be argued for edible items is... Silly, really. And I believe I suggested those minions previously ! I thought Fable was readable long before that board, but I may be thinking of something else (like the Bitabook).
