I joined Style File a few months ago. I don't post on the forums but I do like going through all the different avatars that are on there :)

Here is the rule regarding deleting your own avatars, without requiring admin approval.

"You may automatically delete avatars UNDER one hour and OVER three months old with no need for admin approval. If attempting to delete an avatar between those times, you will be prompted to give a reason why you've requested deletion. These deletions are accepted and rejected on a case by case basis and you will NOT receive your slot back."

Unfortunately, the rule requiring admin approval between 1 hour and 3 months was due to certain members abusing the upload limit and attempting to upload multiple versions of the same avatar. In general, we do not refuse a deletion and your reasoning can be something as simple as "Don't like this anymore."

i like the site because i enjoy stealing ideas from other people as well as making my own avatars to upload, but i also feel like it is kind of about popularity; you only ever really see the same few names on the top five and if you're not a big name there, even if your avatars are just as good as someone else's, yours will get less attention because fewer people will see it and/or care.

i was always worried that just saying "i don't like it" wouldn't count as a good enough reason but i wasn't sure what WOULD be a good reason, except maybe uploading a newer, better version. honestly a lot of mine i want to delete simply because they've been up for a while and haven't gotten more than a few adores and it's just annoying having them there taking up space and being not that great.

Perfectly understandable. Some people don't like keeping older avatars because they feel like they are cluttering up their account. What you keep in your SF "portfolio" is completely up to your personal preference. Personally, I keep all of my uploads... as a reminder of what I've done and how my style has changed over the years. My oldest upload is from November of 2009. ;)

oh, thanks for the clarification! I had deleted some that were almost a year old because i took a hiatus from subeta and when i came back my style changed completely. It's good to know i didn't violate any rules!

I love style-file! Case closed. Wouldn't love it any other way. I like to look back at how my style changed or progressed. Fun stuff!

Yes yes! I love style-file <3 ^_^ I don't upload nearly as often as I'd like and my HAs aren't really noticed but then, I probably have an odd style lol plus, zombie no-nose, plus I rarely upload an HA without an environment (bg/fg). I love seeing how my style changes and looking at the insane amount of creative HAs out there! <3

I'm on Stylefile. It's a fun little site. It's really cool to see what kinds of avatars people can create. :)
