- I'm doing alright. I don't think it counts cus it's not july yet :P
to be fair, you can pick any period of a month to write 50k words in, no? So if you wanted to go from 15th to 15th you could do, it just wouldn't be Camp NaNo. It would be Camp KiaArra :p
- Well I suppose, but if you're going to put it that way, cahracter backstory isn't really part of the main story, and the whole point is to write 50k words towards a novel, and if you are just arbitrarily writing, then it doesn't really count for anything. It loses all meaning.
Although, Camp KiaArra does sound like an oddle lots of fun! (doesn't seem like the kind of place where one would get much writing done though)
Maybe it's not, unless you turn the backstory into the story. It doesn't really matter, I'm not actually doing NaNo xD Camp KiaArra does sound fun. What do you think the activities would be? Can I come?
I haven't decided if I'm going to do camp yet or not. I did it last year and did the whole 50k but that left me right in the middle of the story. I would like to do it again this year and just finish the dumb thing off, but the first 50k needs a lot of revision because the story's changed ever so slightly and that just messed everything up XD

- I know how you feel! My first 50k words that I wrote in november need a lot of work, I dunno if I want to truck on without fleshing out the beginning a bit more!
- Ooo good question, there would be lots of making of s'mores for sure thought!
- I've finally decided that I want to join this year, first week went pretty smoothly, and I think my co-workers would be cool with my taking writing breaks :P Does your cabin still have room? If so, my Camo UN is the same as my subeta UN.
Ooh I like smores! Campfires and singing?
- No s'more would be complete without them :)
I opened it for random assignments, so I can't specifically request you anymore. There's still open room though, so if you put that you want to be with Stray-Tracks in your cabin settings it may sort you in with us.
- there doesn't seem to be an option to say, I would like to be in [this] Cabin. :( There's only - I don't want a cabin, Random cabin, Criteria (same word goal, same age, or same genre) and I want to start a private cabin. I kinda wish there was a critera for selecting cabin mates in your region, does camp nano even have region settings? I want to meet more wrimos in my region.
They might have taken out the request by name feature when they added in private cabins? By region would be a nice one to have.
Yes! I hate editing and rewriting so much, but I know it's a necessary evil. I think that I'm going to try and do camp again but go for a smaller word goal, maybe just the 10k. Just something to get me writing. Glad to hear that you decided to go for it as well!

- I've also put out just a small 10k word goal. I'll be writing things for an RP group that a couple friends and I want to start.
That sounds like fun; are your friends doing camp too?
I'll be working on the same story that I did for camp last year which is also a complete rewrite of my first nanovel from 4 years ago. I just can't seem to ever be done with this story sigh
[tot=layure]
- Nope, they are not.
Yeah, my Nano novel from 4 years ago needs some serious TLC too.
Yep, I'm doing 15,000 words and I'm so unsure, I am like totally freaking out. I worry its not good enough and my inner editor cage isn't strong enough. :(

And it begins! How was everyone's day 1? I got no writing done b/c Canada day, I was out all day celebrating. :)
- 15k is perfect, it's like 500 words/day. I might change mine to that because I like round numbers, none of this 332/3 words a day thing!
