My friend came over today and my grandma made us chocolate chip cookies. She gave each of us one. We ate some of them, and threw the rest away because we weren't gonna eat the rest.
Just now, my grandma asked me if we ate the cookies. I said no and she asked where they were. I said the trash and she all gets SO mad at me for throwing them away. WTF else were we supposed to do with them? And she knows that I don't really like chocolate in my cookies. And my grandpa's all, "If you weren't gonna eat them, then don't take any!" Really? Are you serious?

We wouldn't even have taken them if she hadn't GAVE THEM TO US. We didn't even really want any! So I went and got them out of my trash can, and I set them on top of the lid of the trash can in the kitchen.

That was slightly disrespectful. Your grandma went out of the way to make you and your friend cookies, and you throw them away because you don't want them. Even if you don't like chocolate chip cookies, it's the thought that counts. I doubt your grandma was mad at you for throwing them away. I bet she was upset because of the way you treated her by throwing out something she made for you.

Either that or she wanted some cookies, and was upset because the cookies were gone.

Wait, no. She gave us each ONE cookie. Not all of them.

Personally I think you're a brat. :x

Not only did she put the time into making them but she spent money on the ingredients and you clearly don't respect that at all. You're lucky to have a grandmother that cares about you that much. You should apologize and thank her. And seriously, you couldn't have just put them on the counter if you didn't want them?

That's kinda wasteful. In my house we always save leftovers of everything, especially if someone else might want it later. Plus it's rude to throw away something your grandma took the time to make you :c.

Well, we both ate half of our cookie, and we didn't want anymore. And she didn't really make the cookies, it was dough in a tub, that she put on a cookie sheet and put in the oven.

Wow. How wasteful. You must be quite spoiled to think that what you did was okay. I just can't believe you and your reaction... My god.

But it was the thought that counts. That's the point I was trying to make in my first post.

By the way, you seriously need to revise your topic post because the way you have it worded, it sounds like your grandma gave you a whole plate of cookies and you threw all of them away.

ooops sorry.... your overuse of the word 'them' in your original post gave me (and others) the impression that there were way more than one cookie each.

none of this is adding up.

and wtf cares if its dough from a tub????

What else were you supposed to do with them?

Eat them.

It was one cookie. You won't die.

I think it's sweet that your grandmother took the time to make you cookies, regardless of whether it was dough from a tub. I would have at least shown some respect, even if I didn't like the cookies..

I would have kept the cookies for later. Maybe someone else wants them. Cookies are still good if you wrap them up.

You're 11.

Respect your grandparents. I wish I still had mine to make me cookies and soup and tell me WWII stories.

Even now that I'm older I wish I still had my grandparents to talk to so I'd get more out of them than I ever could.

She made you cookies. For you and your friend to enjoy. If you don't want food, you wrap it up and ask if they're around if they want any before you wrap them up.

She just wants to make you happy.

No, actually, I'm really nice to my parents. I wuvs them. And they're nice to me too. If only I could live with my mom, then my life would almost be perfect.

.....

Now I know I bake... okay so I bake a lot (let's not go into that, you really do not want visions of me running around a tiny kitchen baking tons of stuff) but to my old distant knowledge there are magical devices such as cookie jars. If you do not have said magical device, you should at least have had plastic baggies or at the very least foil or plastic wrap (the best way to keep the cookies fresh would actually be in plastic baggies and than put in the cookie drawer, but that is only if you are going for the soft versus hard ratio).

Honestly, nowhere did it say you had to eat them all, nor did you have to take the ones that you did (you could have politely declined) but you should not have thrown that out. That is almost like a slap in the face to someone who bakes the right way (if there are any die hard bakers out there you know what I am talking about).

Not to mention the fact that perhaps gramps and grams could have wanted some.

i think the hardest thing for me to understand is the idea that ALL the cookies were yours. i can imagine grandma offering the entire plate to you and your friend, but even in my up-bringing, i'd NEVER throw them out as if they were all mine to do so. i was taught to only take ONE... regardless of how many were offered.... and then go about my business.

whats the deal with manners these days?

I have to agree. My grandmother didn't even care enough to know my name, much less make me and my friends cookies

I completely understand wat ur sayin shatzy but wouldn&;t it also be kinda rude to only take one on some occasions. wouldnt that be like saying that that&;s all you could choke down?

nah, i dunno. it's not like you are taking a single cookie with a scowl on your face. obviously you take the one cookie graciously. ^_^
