If there's one thing I hate more than anything, it's transferring data from one computer hard drive to the other. Because, though it's really nothing more than a time-consuming job, I know that I'll have to deal with transferring iTunes libraries.

I like to think that I'm not a music snob. Maybe a connoisseur at the most. I'm not one of those "OH GOD I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MAH MUSIC" people. (Though there's truly nothing wrong with that, don't get me wrong.)

I suppose that it is because of this, er, connoisseurness, that I have managed to obtain 70.21 GB of music on my computer. And now, I am forced to sit and wait, afraid to do anything else or touch it, until every single stinking megabyte transfers onto my new computer. (See this thread, haha. ❤️ )

Baaaaawwwww.

Hey, CC kids. How big are your iTunes libraries/music storage facilities? What's the longest time you've had to wait for shit to transfer?

(Happy Mother's Day!)

There are currently 27 GB of music in my iTunes library, but because I am very unorganized there's no doubt a bajillion more GB hiding elsewhere on my computer. It's nice to find someone who appreciates music possibly even more than I do, most people I know or see around have pretty sad-looking iTunes libraries. I have a 160 GB external which holds most of my pictures and music, but I don't actually recall transferring stuff over to it.

I haven't got iTunes on my computer anymore, seeing as my computer is on it's last legs, I don't see the point of downloading loads of songs just for my computer to break down .__.

I recently deleted all my music so I could start from scratch (I wasn't listening to any of it). Currently, I just have 2GB. I'm very picky with what I download. :]

Ooh, that's brave. I don't know if I'd be able to do that, hhaha.

I try to listen to everything somewhat evenly, because I really only get things that I'm interested in. :/ I got an iPhone a while back, and not being able to put all my music on it really killed me. I spent two hours going through trying to whittle down 60GB into 14GB. :(

I'm in range of around 60-70gb as well, I do like having all the music I've collected over the years on hand. I've never had to sit through transfers, though =o I use an external hard drive for music/pictures/videos. It's really convenient. But putting it into iTunes, and any other music programme, auuugh. It's torture! itunes has to be the worst though. Once you transfer all the music in, it has to do some shit with playback. Then it has to do crap with album art. Then who knows what else. I find it takes more time for me to put things into the itunes library than my winamp.

So, my lesson learned, cut down the music I stick into my library at one time to 30gb =P

Sorry for the wall of text.

[edit] Ooh, eesh. I wouldn't be able to deal with 14gb. I'm fine with my 30gb ipod video. When I commute it gives me a great choice, and if my mood changes, I just switch a few artists around. But I'd never delete my stuff, I agree, that's brave!

Well, I would find an artist I liked, download their entire discography -- only to discover the rest of their songs sort of sucked. And my friends would suggest artists, or people on the internet would, and I'd download everything I could find. It was horrible. XD So yeah, being picky now. It will grow, though.

I have an astonishing 12.9 GB now c:

I had way more though, but my laptop can only store 111 GBs of data so I try to delete my music files as soon as they're on my 30 GB mp3 player. (Don't have an Ipod so I don't use Itunes)

But when I got this laptop I transfered 40 GB of music, photo's, movies and documents and stuff. That sucked xD

I have 27.68 GB of crap in my "Purchased" section. Which is what I use for listening. (My library is too disorganized.)

I have 17.4GB used for music on the lappy here, which si acting as a backup to the desktop for the time being, until I order a backupdrive for everything.

I do NOT have iTunes at ALL. NO apple junk, so I have nothing from the iTunes libraries..... and if something errors, I can usually resume it. I drag n drop files between my lappie and mp3 player, and haven't had many errors ever. None w/ the new player, anyway.

I use amarok as my music player and it keeps everything organized neatly. I love it.

Although I'm getting a bunch of music off of a friend's ftp server atm, so that might add a few songs, depending what I keep.

My 1000GB external holds 107GB currently, 12.6GB of which is music. I don't really...know how I've managed that though, because my 30GB ZEN (YEAH! Anti iPod!) is full. o.O

Maybe movies, beinagrind? I ripped movies from DVDs, and I have about 16GB worth. :/ But that's an awesome external harddrive, wow. I need to get another one. Mine just kicked the bucket.

shrug All I know is I have about 1,500 songs on there.

I don't care if I have "barely any", I don't judge people by how many songs they have.

And don't get me wrong, it's not like I paid for all of those |D

eek. I'd flip out if i lost mine. A lot of it is irreplaceable, either because the music is so gone you can't find it anywhere, or it'll be a pain t get back in touch w/ the people who gave me the music in the first place........

ack.

Yeah, that's why I back it up every time I add another 5GB. I'd seriously die if I lost all of it. So much time acquiring that shit, there.
