Oh no, this thread is going to get lulzy. Of course you think your opinion is valid, Ricardoe. It is your opinion afterall!
Back on topic. Seriously, how does one click a button in the LAST COLUMN?
So I have to agree with you on everything to make it seem as if I've considered what you're saying?
Don't worry, arrogance on my part is one of the last things on my list of what I care about.

I never said that. Just don't make everyone feel that you're the only person who CAN be right.
As fun as this is, I need to leave for DISNEYLAND. Fun.
Bye.

Vote against.
I usually click vault, and check what shouldn't be vaulted manually, instead of manually vaulting everything. Haven't clicked donate when I didn't want to. :)
Since apparently the idea of adding a pop-up if you donate was already shot down (although I would have been in favor of this), I'm wondering if it would be possible to add a blank column separating the donate column from the other ones, or set the donate column's background color to red or something. It's the only one that you risk losing your items, so it makes sense it would be set apart. If you move something into your vault instead of your shop, no big deal, you can just get it out of your vault. If you move something to the donation center instead of keeping it in your inventory, you will not get it back.
I've been afraid of having some sort of brain fart and accidentally donating my lizard minion trap/spray ever since I got them. It's not that far of a stretch to accidentally click the last column instead of the second to last column. It's something that seems pretty common, and I don't see why making it a little more obvious which column is the donate column would be such a bad thing, considering how much people have lost.
There is a pop-up when you add plushies, beanbags, trading cards. There is a pop-up when you try to use items that are useable. There is a pop-up box when you try buy an item from a main shop. What is the big deal about adding one for when donating an item?
So the big argument is that people should be more careful, double and triple check things... Well sorry for being human and making the odd mistake. We can't all be as perfect and infallible as you.
Thank you to the people who agree with me and are taking the time to vote.
Yupyup.
It's not a matter of being perfect, it's a matter of being careful. Rushing things always end badly. :)
I actually thought this feature would be implemented when complaints arose ages ago about it...doesn't seem like it's happening. xD
Personally, I've never accidentally donated something. But I also rarely use the stock all button, because I actually sit there and click through each item. xD And even then I am paranoid and I scan through the last column really quickly and make sure nothing in that column is checked.
That's a pretty good point, I think. It seems like it would be a lot more common to accidentally donate through quick stock than it would be to accidentally put a plushie or beanbag or card in your collection. If the issue is another pop-up slowing down the site, having those three things pop up seem a little silly, in all honesty.
The idea of colouring the donate coloum is also a good one, since there seems to be a very anti pop-up tone here.
For the record, I just wanted to state that I wasn't aware this issue had already been raised and dismissed. I'm not in the habit of rehashing old issues, I did check in the suggestions for something similar and didn't see anything.
Wow. You mean those people too lazy/busy/rushed/whatever to ctrl+F the expensive items and make sure they're going to the right place will suddenly have the desire to slow down and check just because an extra box tells them to? Seems like a lot of extra staffie work for something that could be just as easily dismissed by the user. shrugs
That's because it's been in the B&C a bunch of times, not sure if it's ever made it to the discussion forum.
(And by all means, I've made mistakes.. I accidently potioned my spectrum lain last week, and had to re-spectrum her. I clicked the wrong MCT, and had to sell everything to buy another one. So I'm not perfect, obviously). I just always take those extra 10 seconds.
Since the pop up would presumably only occur if something in the donate column is checked, I think yes, people would actually slow down and check. I quick stock all the time, many times a day. If something suddenly pops up when I'm not expecting it, it gets my attention.
I'm deathly afraid of donating my lizard stuff and discount card.. I used to scan every time to make sure nothing was in the donate column.
But now I'm so used to doing this, that I think it would physically hurt to click the last column. It's just habit not to put the tick in the last column. But, if I did end up doing that one day, it really would just be my own fault.
Are you suggesting a pop-up for every time you quickstock, or only if you quickstock something into the donation column? If it's the former, I don't see how that would be any help whatsoever. If the latter were possible, I can see that being useful, because not everyone donates every time they quickstock so it shouldn't slow things down too much. Or even if using the donate option brought you to another page and showed you the items you were about to donate and asked if you wanted to do that. That's not a pop-up, and it's kind of similar to the way it shows you what items it couldn't add to your wardrobe?

To everyone against the pop-up idea: What would you think about setting the donate column apart from the others, or making the background color of that column a different color?
I understand why people don't like pop-ups, so I'm wondering if people are just completely against doing anything to possibly prevent more accidental donating or if it's just the pop-ups people don't like.
wow...sorry to hear people are losing items like this but......
no matter how many items I have in inventory....I mkae sure my discount card ,trap and spray are clicked on keep item.
doesn't take but 2 seconds to do that.
what would a pop up say anyway ?::
you have chosen to send x items to vault/shop/donate ?
and we would what ? click ok anyway ?
just find the few seconds it takes to be patient :)

It sucks to lose items like this but there is kinda an easy way to do it if you don't have TOO many items in your inventory.
Put the Lizard Trap (or anything else valuable) into your vault while you stock your shop, then after you stock & autoprice take it back out. I just think a popup box would slow down the site, no matter how useful it may be. -shrug- Just take an extra few seconds to double check. If the items are that important to you it should be worth it =3
