I never wear shoes inside. It just makes more cleaning.
When I went to the States, everyone wore their shoes in the house. When I was at someone's place, I'd take my shoes off at the door and they'd be like "... why are you taking your shoes off?"
Nobody wears their shoes inside in Canada. I wouldn't want to, anyway.
The exception is when I've put my shoes on to leave but forgot something that I needed. I'll quickly run through without removing the shoes.
I just think it's weird as hell to wear your shoes inside the house all the time o:
I feel very uncomfortable wearing shoes inside the house... because I'm used to being able to 'feel' the floor with my feet. And I pull my legs up whenever I sit and I don't want to get possible muddy shoes all over furniture. My mum would probably have a go at me if I wore them inside all the time, anyway.
My opinion is...well, whatever people prefer. It's their house.
If I'm around someone else's house, I either ask if I should take my shoes off (as I think that's the politest thing to do) or if I know it's their preference, I'll take them off.

Ok this very topic just about brings on WW3 in another forum that I visit.
I wear shoes after the millionth time of stepping on a thumbtack/toothpick/fork that the cats knocked to the floor. Nothing like having a fork jammed halfway into your foot. Also protects said feet from any hidden hairballs freshly hacked up.
If my shoes are muddy then I'll take them off and leave them outside. I've not meet one person who makes guests remove their shoes.

No we dont wear shoes in the house. It's typical for most Asian countries to wear slippers, socks, or none at all in side the house.
Our guest do remove their shoes when they go to our house :)
...no one wears shoes indoors here :P personally I think it seems really rude. Or a bit like wearing a coat indoors, impossible to relax with that on.
THEY CAN'T BREAK YOU IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SPINE
I never wear shoes in the house. Generally, in the winter I wear socks. In the summer I'm barefoot.
Right now I'm wearing socks because I'm cold. ):
I don't see much wrong with wearing shoes in the house, unless they're caked with dirt/etc. :p I wear my shoes in the house, because my shoe pile is upstairs in my room. I'm also just too lazy sometimes. XD But my grandmother doesn't allow shows in her house. So her house is shiny and dirtfree. XD
Welll. I never really wear shoes in house unless socks or uggboots in winter. I don't really have an opinion on it, but I do kinda find it yuck if the shoes are muddy or something and they walk on carpet. I'll spit chips, just like my mum does :|
I'd love to leave my shoes by the door and wear slippers, but I share the common room with my roomates and having my shoes laying about causes people to trip. :(
i've always worn shoes in the house. always. bt i kick them off as soon as i enter my room and it's this ocd thing about dirt and crap on my bed so i don't let them on there either.
I do wear shoes in my house because, with the exception of the living room and my parents' bedroom, all the floors are either tiled or laminate and as the house is old and draughty, and the climate here isn't exactly tropical, my feet get cold if I don't have shoes on. If I were to visit someone else's house, I would take my shoes off at the door.
Edited for typos.
I wear shoes indoors all of the time. Reason being is that I have a lot of pets and walking around on socks makes me pick up bird seed, rat food, dog hairs and gods know what else along the way. No matter how much I vacuum my house there is always some little thing lying around and as I only wear black and most of my pets are albinos...
Also, I own some boots with an enormous amount of buckles and laces miles long and I'm just too lazy to put them on and off every time :P
I never ever go barefoot as I have this repulsion of bare feet. I can't stand them as I've known quite a few people in my life who walked around barefoot who had disgusting feet or you could hear them walk because of sticky sweaty feet pukes It left me traumatized :S
never. i cant even grasp the concept of wearing shoes in the house. people step on gum, spit, and dog shit outside, why would you take that to the inside of your home? youre just making your floor disgusting.
wearing shoes in the house makes everything dirty. i eat off the floor and i don't want to eat shoe residue. never thought about that had been there before the dropped food oh...
No. I might wear slippers in the kitchen, but I go barefoot most of the time. I hate it when people wear shoes inside a house. It's like I can imagine a footprint even if there isn't one and it really irks me. :c
i wear shoes in the house, mostly because i stay in my room 90% of the time i'm at home - and i live by myself in the basement, so there's no one there to care~
my dad's really anal about it though... he doesn't want me wearing shoes inside the house, especially not in the living room! ohnoes, the wooden, washable floors will get sand on them ;-;
At my house it doesn't really matter. I take my shoes off, though.
If I'm at someone else's house, I always just ask what they do. It's no big deal.
I don't wear shoes in the house, mainly because I don't really like wearing shoes. Also, it makes too much noise walking around the house in shoes. Whenever I go to someone's house I always take my shoes off. If anyone comes to our house I ask them to remove their shoes.
