Okay, getting a little pissed off. I appreciate the artists&; work. A lot. And I haten it when people insult/give non constructive criticism/are downright rude. But THAT&;S NOT what I made the topic about, and people seem to be thinking that it is and that I don&;t appreciate the work/don&;t mind it when people are rude.

I understand it may not have been why you made the topic, but just because one makes a topic does not mean it fringes on something else. This is one of those times. As I explained in my previous post, a lot of people get defensive or go "aww those poor artists" based off the people who just insult the work and not give constructive criticism.

As for the second part where I asked the question about how would you feel if someone came to your work.... that was to make a point. No one would like it. I could direct it to all the ones who made the comments in the first place, to myself to anyone, who that question is posed to is not important. The answer you give is. Ten to one most people would say they would not like it.

I got really pissed off... when they released the "I love x pet" t-shirts.

Fair enough, I wouldn't expect them to release all pets all at once. But if you commented the shirt for the pet you heart was not released yet you got 10 people complaining at you for not apprectiating the artist's work, or demanding that you be grateful they 'released anything at all'...

You wouldn't wear a T-shirt for a band you don't like no matter how cool the graphics were D:

WELL I'M PISSED OFF BECAUSE THERE WEREN'T 'I HATE ___' SHIRTS RELEASED FOR EVERY SINGLE SPECIES.

THAT'S JUST NOT CRICKET.

BOO ARTISTS; YOU'RE SO THOUGHTLESS. WHY AREN'T YOU PSYCHIC-MIND-READY-AMAZING AND WHY DON'T YOU DRAW EXCLUSIVELY WHAT I WANT.

NOT. CRICKET.

WAH.

But anyway. I understand why you're frustrated, Sedative. I was thinking yesterday, when I was reading this topic, that a lot of people seemed to be content to ignore what your complaint actually was, and then use this thread as a vehicle to bitch about a seperate but somehow related issue.

that's exactly what was in my head while i was scrolling down.

i do find it a little annoying when people get super defensive of the onsite artists. yes, they are amazing and work really hard, but working for subeta is a pretty good gig! especially as a first REAL art job i think it teaches a lot about working under someone yet having quite a bit of creative control, and i can only imagine how amazing their portfolios look after all the practice they get on subeta.

artists, you're awesome, and congrats on landing such a cool job and rocking the fucking shit out of it.

The only time I have ever seen "omg, think of the artists, bro" is for unreasonable suggestions (ie: make everything wearable, change the HA base and redraw all clothing to fit it), or if someone is a straight up asshole ("This pet sucks. Did you even look at it before releasing it?"). In all cases, I have found the statement to be completely legit, and not pandering/ass-kissing.

It's nice to feel appreciated on occasion, especially after wading through the wank about how the new pet is TOO KAWAII LEAVING THE SITE FOREVER GOING TO KILL MYSELF BAWWWWWWWWW.

I only hate the dipshits who say that kind of thing and not the artists who have unwillingly had this said on their behalf.
