I have always kept my filter turned off. I enjoy the freedom that we have on this site, and the swearing is just a reminder of that. :)

Besides, I am a guilty person who sometimes needs those dang words, so it would be silly to turn them off. LOL

But no, my grandmother was not closed minded, and neither am I.
Swearing isn&;t necessary for life. Its a waste of air and words.
If she thought everyone who swore was unintelligent, then yes, she was quite close-minded. :/

Haha. I think seeing 'love' everywhere in the place of 'fuck' would be kinda freaky. It would make everyone appear to be a hippie. :P

No filter. It's kind of stupid to have the filter on, imo, because you can tell what people are saying anyway. It's not hard to guess that 'dog' = bitch, or 'love' = fuck.

It goes to show you how many people don&;t like to hear they may be unintelligent.

Well, i don't think anyone is going to take kindly to being called unintelligent, most of all unintelligent people. It's not like someone is just going to say "oh, yeah, you're right- i really am an idiot!" not gonna happen.

I don't necessarily think that using swear words makes someone unintelligent- its more a matter of laziness or a "heat of the moment" thing for me. Yeah, i swear occasionally, mostly when I'm really pissed and can't think of anything better to tell someone off with than "fuck you". I've been raised to believe that a classy, respectable girl doesn't curse like a sailor, so those words just don't enter my active vocabulary very often.

Any who, filter is off for me. My computer is on the fourth floor/attic, so i don't have to worry about the 'rents sneaking around and freaking out at what someone else has typed. And its frankly confusing sometimes when a bunch of filter words clog up a sentence and turn it into gibberish.

Meh, I leave the filter off. I don't mind cursing even if a person swears up a storm. I'm not easily offended.
