iawtc? xD
haha well anyway, i don't think there are that many pound...?-lurkers around on subeta... I mean, there are only 600-700 people on at any given time, maybe less?
well anyway, I agree that a transfer system would be easier still.
Buying: (13 mil per)

Selling:
- I honestly agree, but, I seriously think something is wrong, since Aladdin was snatch the /second/ he was pounded. I think an Auto-adopter is going around, because that just isn't right.
- I know it's just a few people, and it wouldn't be a big deal, but the people are slowly escalating, and I seriously hope it doesn't get out of hand.
- I agree with your first statement, as well as the second, but I have never lost a pet with both ways, and I fear something is going on. (( Love your pets, btw. ))

Honestly, I don't see a need for one. I have transferred countless foster pets in my time here, and I've never lost one. Both parties just need to be well-informed and effective about it.
I don't like the idea of pet trading. It used to be done here and people were so freaking annoying about it. :/ If we had that option again, I can see a huge increase in "Is ___ UFA by any chance?" or "Trade ___ For ___?" I already see people commenting strangers to ask if their pets are UFA as it is (a friend of mine has been asked several times).
If we do get a trading system, or even just a transfer system, I hope there's a very strictly-enforced penalty for people that go around asking for other users' pets.
Its not that strange considering there are boards on stalking the pound and people that spend a large chunk of time that way as well.
I think that just a transfer system would be very nice, though I'd never use it.
What said sums up my mind.
Neopets worked fine with only the pound, until they had to find a solution for transferring clothing.
I'll focus on this part more, because I want to add something
There will be another increase. I feel like it will get name hoarders to break the site rules. And, getting a painted pet, out of sheer luck, is possible, via zappers. So, people could trade something gained with luck, for something else? It bothers me. A lot.
If you transfer carelessly, yes. You can miss.
- Maybe, we could have an out-going transfer, and have some kind of waiting period?
- I'm still sorry, love. :c

I don't think we need one either. It may be a nice feature but I don't think it should be on the list of things to do asap.
I like how all of these threads about the pound are being created because of 1 pet that a user sniped. 3 people kept trying to contact this user... why wouldn't she block them? Get over it.

If you're quitting because of a pet that someone was going to give you then that's really dumb.

umm... well, not to be the bad guy... but how would the person who "snatched" the pet know that the alleged owner was telling the truth? :| I guess I don't fully understand the situation as it has never happened to me, but... I think I can kind of see it from the "snatcher's" point of view. how can they be maliciously abusing the pound when they don't know anything about the transfer before hand? and how can they believe you? I mean, I don't really think anyone would lie about that (I guess), but I believe that other people might think that way.
I've gotten some of those comments about Julien and Christ. Gods it pisses me off. No. They will never be UFA. Never. :x I don't like the idea of trading really, I can see how it would be reasonable if both parties agree... But, IRL I wouldn't trade my shelter adopted calico runt cat for anything, not even a freaking a purebred siamese. Virtual pets should be loved the same, that's the whole idea isn't it?
Anyhow... I think there should be some kind of transfer... I don't care about how much fair game it is, it's not right that these dicks can do this. ...There is something called courtesy. Apparently these n00bs lack it.
In most cases (at least if the owner has common sense) they will put that the pet is being sent to whatever person in the pets' description.
Dont forget to discuss all adopting info, such as the time your disowning it In sMail ;) That could be one way a sniper could easily snatch the pet.
Judging by your quote, , I do not think the owner was being a jerk about it. The new owner was as short and sweet as possible. And they're right, the pound is fair game. They're not obligated to give the pet back, nor are they a bad guy or girl if they don't.
I dont see the need for a pound transfer personally because I named and colored almost all my pets. Ruber was a transfer that was successful on my end. If you plan it right and carefully, sure theres a chance, but a slim one that you won't get the pet.

oh. I did not know that... well, I guess if that's the case then they really are being jerks. :| I suppose a transfer system could be a good idea... but I would never use it. I don't like the idea of trading pets, either. they're not pokeymans!!! O:
I personally don't want a pet transfer/trading system.
It reminds me too much of Neo's fail. A lot of people would randomly start transfers here like they do on Neo, which is really annoying.
And sorry about your friend's loss, but imo she shouldn't be that depressed about it. :x
Sorry guys, but I don't have a lot of sympathy about a pet going out of control once it's in the pound.
Yes, I know that favored names can be adored and longed for.
Yes, I know that certain colors and breeds are highly desired.
But, there are so many amazing color/breed combinations out there and so many ways to get pets via zapping and random potion drops (thanks mr Wizard and lab) that pining because of a missed pet seems overly dramatic. Let it go and work on making a new pet with an equally wonderful name and appearance, rather than letting yourself get all tied up in knots over it.
First: It sucks that you and your friend lost out. Second: It sucks that they blocked you, but if your quote is an accurate one of your conversation, you were sort of begging and that can be annoying. Third: Saying the pound is fair game is not "Neo BS" as you put it; it's the plain and simple truth. They are not obligated to return the pet, just like someone is not obligated to return a mispriced item. Fourth: While none of my pets have well sought after names/colors/stats and I have never been through the whole attempt to transfer a pet, the most I've done is go for the only room for one achievement, I see a lot of complications arising from a transfer system.
It would be nice to have one, but to be honest, I don't think it should be on the list of major priorities.
I dislike pound snatchers, but I think I dislike people who threaten to quit and put on a big show about it instead of just doing it even more. Sorry you lost the pet you wanted, but if you're going to throw around the threat to omgz quit then I don't really care what happens to you on the site.
this. When push comes to shove, letting yourself get all worked up about an image on your computer screen is ridiculous. Yes, i like my pets- a lot. And if i lost one in a transfer (although i wouldn't risk it), i would be a little torn up about it. But spiraling into a state of quitting-worthy depression? no way.
In short, put on your big girl panties and deal with it.

@ Everyone else- I don't like the OMGZ QUIT scene either, but, since Zax is my friend, I can't help but be a little sad for her. ;c
And, I just wish there was some way to not abuse such a system, but I don't see how it's possible...

Maybe I'm just a complete bitch but really, is it that big of a fuckin deal? Elixirs/potions aren't that hard to come by one Subeta, create the pet yourself. In the end it'll be more rewarding knowing you worked hard to make your pet look nice rather then just having someone hand you a nice looking pet.
