I had an adorable Chinese Dwarf hamster named Smudgie for two years! She was so soft. ^-^ She died almost two years ago now though, and it still makes me sad sometimes. :(
I sometimes still miss my previous two.
You guys make me want to get a hamster so bad. ;u; I've never had one, but I've always wanted one. They look like they'd make great companions! We've always had cats, so my mom's always said no (though we did have gerbils once /cringe). Right now I just have two betta's and a cat. So if I wasn't for the fact that I'll have to move back home once I graduate, I'd totally get one. :3
For now I'll just entertain myself with your stories and doing immense research on them. haha!
Hamsters are not hard to care for. They can be very entertaining as well! Normally they hide to the sound of the vacuum cleaner, but my black hamster, just followed it in her ball. I couldn't get her away from it.
My male, Austin has passed away last week.
my nephew has a hamsters and they play together all the time its really cute.
- so wait! The male hamster you just bred with the new female just passed away??? That's horrible :c
I had a hamster name Tulip and then Pepper. My brother had one named Fluffy afterwards who was an escape artist. That was YEARS ago. Then we had a female guinea pig named Peanut and came back from visiting relatives with another male guinea pig Buster who we adopted. I would not dare put them together (no babies!). And then of course my little brother had his own named Pinto. I adore guinea pigs more than hamsters because they were easier to handle for us and some of them loved to be petted. They were more vocal and active.
A year ago I got a parakeet after wanting one for years. Most awesome little guy ever. Birds all the way!!!
I cried for an hour when I found him dead in his house ;_; I wish he didn't leave me so soon. I get very attached to my pets.
My little girl wants out so badly, but she's looking pretty big and I don't want to handle her as often now. Today, I'm going to buy her a bigger food dish (probably for a rabbit) because I cant touch her cage for 3 weeks if she has babies.
When I was a kid, I remember we had a hamster who escaped from her cage because she chewed off a bar and was able to squeeze through. We had the front door open bringing in groceries too. Lucky she didn't escape.
I grew up with hamsters, birds, rats and fish. I would love to get a rat, but my mom said "You cant have hamsters and a rat at the same time" why? I live on my own. She didn't even want me to get a second hamster lol. I work in a pet store... cleaning a million cages doesn't bother me ;P
I have a dwarf hamster. :L Hes so cute. has stripes down his back. Named him George. I have a cool cage that can be added on too. I cant wait to be able to add onto it and spoil the shit out of the little sir.
How do you know it's a male? ;o Is it a Russian Dwarf, or a winter white?
10 days and counting. She's looking a little plump.
Russian dwarf and mail. c:
aaa hamsters bring me back. i used to have a few through my childhood. most of the ones i had were male and sweethearts. my longest lived and last hamster was by far my favorite though, he was a nice gray and white. he was named sesshoumaru /lol he was the sweetest thing and none of our cats had a problem with him even out of his ball. its been a long time, but now im not allowed and type of rodent. ; n;
