Aww that's so sad :'c I can't even imagine a person who could just leave out animals like that </3
Whoa, an orange mom? That's pretty rare; almost all orange tabs are male. Same with torties, almost all are female.
I'm so glad you saved them before they died! Who throws a living thing in the garbage?!?!
How heartless! My heart aches for when those poor cats were put out.. I'm glad that you guys got those cats! They could have brought it to someone not.. Leave it outside. That makes me mad! Bless your heart. Im glad you were able to keep the kittens.
Ping me please so I can respond to your messages~! <3
That is really sad. I cannot even begin to imagine how that could of felt at that exact time.
I hope everyone gets a home soon. :D Kitties are lucky they were found.
coughs My Princess Butterball wants to know exactly how rare she's suppose to be. lol She has a sister (not related) that's orange. Then again, her ego is already huge. I don't know if I should inflate it anymore or else she'll float away.
I think that female orange tabbies are rare is sort of an urban legend.

"Rare" in the sense that there's less of them, not in the sense that we found proof of Jesus or anything. xD Cats color code by something to do with their x and y genes, so yeah, you're more likely to have an orange male than orange female just because that's one of those colors. It doesn't mean it doesn't happen, it's just like "oh awesome she did the thing!"
Well, -I- get excited about it, anyway...
I was making a joke there. ;) That last part is suppose to go with the rest about my cat. Believe me when I say she's a diva. She's loud and proud to tell you off when you assume she's male. And yeah, if my cat knew that her coloring was proof of Jesus... I think she'd hit the stratosphere. XD
I do find that interesting though. I've looked it up and it seems that it depends on the person reporting it. They're either uncommon or it's equal. Must be like red heads in humans. :) You have a very good chance when everyone involved has the same hair color.

All I know to be fact is that the neighbor's cat was an orange tab, male, and not neutered. I wanted that thing to be hit by a car so bad... :'D He was satan incarnate, I swear to god.
Ugh, that's horrible. My neighbor never fixed her cats where I used to live. There were so many feral cats there. One of them adopted us by coming in the doggie door....We had him fixed....
That's awful. I can understand someone not knowing what to do with so many cats, but can you imagine if you hadn't found them? Those poor cats. I'm glad they're safe now. I hope you find a good home for them.
A family I used to live with in my house-hopping days had a cat named CoCo that they actually found thrown in a dumpster and starving. The poor thing was literally so hungry that it cried AS it ate. It was literally the most heart-wrenching thing I have ever seen, and I'm an animal advocate that has seen some pretty messed up sh*t.
People have no respect for animals...they're no longer valued. I don't know how to get people to change their perspective either. It's really depressing.
hugs you did the right thing! A few years ago on my way to work I almost hit not one, but two, kittens that were playing in the road. It was night and they were black and it was a busy street in the middle of the city. ugh, stupid owner had let his cat breed out of control. With his permission the next day I came with my mom and we took all of the kittens to a shelter. I don't understand how someone can let kittens just wander around like that. I wonder how many had already or would have died because no one was paying attention to them. I've also pulled two dogs out of the road, helped another cat, ect, over the years. I don't understand how people can just drive by or look the other way. The 'Someone else will take care of it' mentality is Not the way to live! All of my pets are rescues and I'm grateful every day that there are people out there who actually take the time to stop what they are doing and do something to help animals when they need it.
