: Aside from the obvious (food and family), I actually really like the cold weather. It's probably because I grew up in Minnesota, but I've always associated snow and ice with good feels. Also, it's fun to see your exhaled breath condense in cold air.

My favorite thing about the holidays is getting to spend time with my brothers. This year it has proven challenging since they moved 15 hours away- but we will find a way!

Christmas the last ten years have been mainly a painful reminder of what my family has lost. My Granny died 10 years ago and Christmas was her favourite holiday, especially as she got older because she made it a point to spend as many as she could with my mom, my dad, my sisters and I. The first Christmas without her was, I don't want to say horrid but that's what it felt like. There was a hole in our hearts, there still is, and no matter what we do its going to be there forever.

I'm trying to find joy in the season again, I think this is sort of the first year I've actually been mostly okay with it being December. So if I had to say what my favourite thing about Christmas is, it would be the fact that my Granny made it magical for us all and started the tradition of putting the Christmas Bow on your head for the remainder of the day. ^_^ And Snoopy. Snoopy is always popular around Christmas time and whenever I see anything Snoopy or Woodstock related, it makes me smile. :)

For Luminaire on Subeta my favourite thing is gifting my friends and watching how everyone gets kinder around the holiday. :) Also the fairies. It isn't Luminaire on Subeta for me unless there's fairies lighting our way. ^_^

One of my favorite thing about the holidays is watching people become a better version of themselves. It's seeing all the kindness and giving and generosity of spirit that isn't always present year round. I love that people make the effort to let small irritations and insults pass, hold their tongues when they don't have something nice to say instead of carping or sniping at people. I love seeing people go out of their way to make people smile (perhaps especially those who don't seem to have that spark of holiday spirit, in an effort to share). It reminds me that no matter how much I despair of people...there is always hope for a brighter day.

Christmas time always reminds me of when I was younger and we'd put up our christmas tree. I love the smell of fresh pine because of this time of year. I hated the prickly needles of the blue spruce and fraser fir so dad would always hunt down one of the white pines with their soft long needles, just for me. We had the most wonderful colored ball lights (that sadly, they do not make anymore), once it was up and decorated I'd often crawl into the corner, underneath the tree and curl up in its soft light and sweet sharp smell to spend a few hours napping. Pine, to this day means family to me.

And of course, all my friends: ! You all make Subeta a place I can always find a smile. ^.^ snugs There are so many more I could put down, but I will smoosh you all!

One of my fav things about the holidays is spending time with my family. Im actually jewish so we dont celebrate Christmas and such but the best thing I can say is going to my friend and family's houses for Hanukkah and sharing the joy the holiday brings. I also love to cook a lot so I make special treats for all my friends and family and they enjoy them a lot ^^

My favorite thing about the holidays is my Grandparent's christmas parties. We get together, drink far too much wine and everyone brings an instrument (I always sing and play tambourine) and we play terrible country music covers. We have guitars, keyboards, harmonicas, accordions, etc and it's always just bad noise but it's too much fun. We always have a blast. Plus Memere makes the greatest spinach dip in a roll of pumpernickle bread and it's to die for!

Holidays are the only times most of my family gets together, and while they drive me nuts, they're still my family and I love them to death.

My favorite part of the holidays is spending time with my family and watching the kids open their gifts. Sometimes the look on their faces when they get that one item they really wanted is priceless.

My favorite things about the Luminaire are the bonds between friends that grow stronger. Even though we all just communicate by keyboard, we all do grow to really care about one another. I love the generosity so many people express to not just friends but to complete strangers, just as you are showing right now Peg. c: Thank you.

I think my favorite thing about the holidays is getting to see the members of my family that I don't get to see too much. I have an uncle I really only get to see a few times a year & even my own brother lives too far away to visit very frequently. So I like being able to take some time off work & hang out with them :)
