what Kindred Spirits is using is just an off-site forum system. It's not part of a broader content management system, although it does have the facilities to add a calendar and other things that we regularly use.

A template.. The basics like the ability to create Forums and sub-forums within them if necessary. Navigation that is easy to use. A text box that you can actually see what you are typing in it and that will allow bbc. A way for the mods to edit css would be nice or something like what weebly offers where you can click on an area and easily upload a banner or photo. Actually, I'd love a way to have a bright, colorful news page. It would be nice to have as a front page (already structured but easily editable if you know css) that you could add photos, news, a how- to- join section, ect. (great for cults with spotlights.) I'd like to have the ability to ping people in it. Going back to what I was saying before, I also think the mods should have the ability to add banners and change the colors of the navigation bars too.

Like 's cult, Unique is completely off-site with customizable forums which we use - the onsite thing we literally only use for people to show they are in the cult and be able to donate items/sP should they want to. To be quite honest, after 4+ years of being offsite and building what we have, I am not entirely sure what Subeta could do because at this point I like what we have set up. :P

Things that I would like to see based on what I use the cults for now:

• Custom CSS for layouts
• Vaults: I would like to be able to choose how the items are ordered, similar to the inventory with "itemid, name," etc. It would be REALLY FUCKIN NICE if the items did not bounce around their order with every page refresh.
• Vaults: Mass removal from the vault, please.
• If someone donates directly to the vault, it would be nice if we could find out who it was.
• HOVERS on the items in the vault.
• Invites to work properly, because they don't seem to. Like... maybe an alert when someone is invited?
• An ability to make an invite-only cult without it being broken.

Our forums are at subeta-unique.com/forums if you want to see the layout and features that we have. I definitely love that we have a calendar with birthdays and we can add events, have the ability to moderate as well as issue warnings.

I am going to ping to see if they have other ideas because, like I said, I kind of like what Unique has now - it took a lot of work but it's pretty awesome. :)

I really like that we can change post counts, that was really helpful when we moved from subeta to the forum that way nobody lost their numbers.

We can even delete just the posts of one member with a click of a button instead of having to go fish for them. Super helpful when someone causes drama and we just would rather pretend they didn't exist (we haven't had that problem since we moved off site, it would have been nice to have last summer on here though!)

We also have staff forums and the ability to say you must have X posts before you can access Y forum. Great to keep people from just dropping in for events only :)

In addition to what Valhalla has said, I would like PINGS TO WORK. That is seriously the one thing that would make us seriously consider coming back on site. I can't figure out how to get it on our forums or we'd be in our own little utopia.

We have the ability to add a live chat into our forums, but when I tried it, it was awful so we have stuck with mibbit for IRC.

Just saw this, I do a lot of the backend work on CHIC and have been admin for like 20 years so I hope my opinion is still valid. I'm first going to elaborate a bit on the options mentioned that have been particularly useful for us.

• ranks (umm like forum titles)
• groups (user/mod/admin)
• group-wide AND user specific permissions
• forum permissions
• banning, with control over time (ALSO currently kicking someone out of the cult prevents them from rejoining ever! option for a simple removal, temp ban, or permaban would be great)
• warnings
• custom emotes/smilies!

Things we have great control over: who can see what forums, if they can post, if they require approval for the post to be seen, polls, how many options are allowed per poll, and other things. If you'd like I could offer a screenshot of our permission options

I believe those are the most regular features we use and are pretty critical to running the cult. I don't think a basic system of just user, mod, and admin with pre-set permissions would work that well for us. I suppose it is possible but after years of having absolute control over everything it'd take some getting used to!

Some things I'd like added/improved on:

• an achievement system. I'm sure we cant be the only cult with something like that in place. It would be cool if it could show up on their profile stats or something.

• ITEM DONATION/REMOVAL LOGS this could be an admin only feature or maybe we could also choose to make it public

• SAME FOR SP X100000 b/c that is really important and a running total is NOT fantastic thanks.

• something to show activity. Maybe someone checks the cult often but never posts, or they just never check at all. Idk it'd be nice to know.

• if you somehow manage to allow us to give news alerts (NOT just pings)- like stuff that shows up on the actual sidebar I would be so happy I could kiss you on the mouth.

I am not sure if this is exactly what you were asking for but HERE there's something that had been posted for some users and some of us have some main ideas of changed we would ❤ to see when it comes to cults. (See first post and last posts of that thread please 😊 )

Instead of creating a new thread with questions about cults or idea's that I have for cults (some things from threads I created and have posted on years ago) I wanted to know if this was brainstorming for layouts only or for all things cult related. Hoping this okay since the last post was in January. Is a cult update ever going to happen?
