Dark theme to turn pages black instead of white

could this be possible id love to see a dark theme to change the white pages to black like in kumos as sometimes these white pages are hard on my eyes i really dont wanna quit subeta if it is possible
Agreed, the glaring white content is borderline too much.
This is live now! Head to Dashboard > Themes and you'll see a new "Dark content area" checkbox. Check it and hit Apply Theme.
It works with every theme - it flips the main content background to dark while keeping all the theme's colors and personality. On modern browsers, the dark background even picks up a subtle tint from your theme (so Shadowglen gets a purple-tinted dark, Morostide gets an orange tint, etc.).
If you're on an older browser or device, you'll still get a clean neutral dark. Should be much easier on the eyes.
Let me know how it looks on your favorite themes, happy to tweak things if anything feels off. Some pages are for sure going to need some tweaks, especially depending on how old they are.

The text on the 'Buy' buttons on the SBQ page https://subeta.net/explore/subeautique.php/shop are very, very light on All the Themes. It's the most visible/easiest to see on the Darkside theme. It would probably be better to have black/dark text on those colored buttons instead of the super light colors in contrast.
Currently using Darkside theme on dark mode and it's near impossible for me to see the light blue wishlist square on items because of the blinding white image background on the dark mode background.
ditto in regards to the autumn theme, it's also very green which is an interesting choice if it was intended, would assume it to be more neutral like on desktop
there's also parts of the site that still shine through white and seem to cut off on desktop
its just exacerbating the white even more, haha also trying to preview posts locks up the page
When scratching a scratchcard, the image for the scratchcard is a black box:

Thanks folks, keep them coming - I'll knock those out today. This kind of change will probably take a few passes.
As for the blinding white of the item images, that's why we've always avoided having a real dark mode on Subeta - there just isn't anything we can do about those items from 20 years ago having white backgrounds, or most of our NPCs before we switched to transparent PNGs :(

Not sure if you've gotten to working on the scratchcard issue, but just reporting that I'm still having the same problem. The first time I scratch a card I'll be able to see it fine, but any subsequent cards aren't visible but can still be scratched fine.
Also, I really love the way the Shadowglen theme looks over on Kumos. The dark purple background with black text boxes are a really great aesthetic and I was hoping it would look the same over here on Legacy with this new dark mode. I'm a bit disappointed to see that everything's black on black so it just sort of blends into itself a little too much and makes some of the smaller details harder to see. I'm not complaining about it too much, I definitely love black as well. I just feel like the theme being pretty much nothing but black doesn't really suit it nearly as well as the majority of the background being that nice, dark purple that I love so much. I know that you mentioned that if you're using an older browser that you'd still get a dark background, but not it wouldn't be tinted so that might be the problem since my browser's pretty old and running on a Windows 7 OS. Is there any way that the tint could be adapted for older browsers as well? Or is that something that just isn't possible at this point?
