UPDATE: I've finally progressed to the final stage of my virus and both of my issues concerning random hair and invisible equiped items have been resolved! :D

Hi, I am having this issue as well.
EDIT: I am able to edit the layers to not show the phantom hair in new avatars but most of my saved avatars still have the phantom hair.

Just an update, please DO NOT file a ticket on this. This is a known bug and Keith is tracking and looking into the issue. I have reset user avatars on Kumos and Legacy and the phantom hair still appears. If you file a ticket, we will still redirect and ask for you to check this report thread instead. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
