My Subeta Memory

I have so many fond memories... it's hard to narrow it down... but a running theme through my first few years, was a friend I made.
I was stuggling my first couple of months and she really helped me. She gave me tips and pointers. We went through events together and helped fill the gaps in items and such for each other. She made me my first art piece that I got on site... which inspired me to try it too. We'd celebrate each other's birthdays, pet creations, achievements, holidays/events, real life things too. It was really nice to have someone like that. :)

More recently... I know it's dumb... but learning you could "Use" certain birthday cakes and get stuff. I went YEARS, without knowing this... YEARS!

Also... quick shout out to my Chewbac...I mean, my Co-Pilot Rag Doll.... That for reals made me squeal... out loud. I remember being over the moon with that little gem. high five for whoever was in charge of that. :D

I'd love to see a "Most Recently Added" search feature to the vault. I can't tell you how many times I have accidentally sent something there, then forgot what it even was. :/

psst... I'd also like a way to get ONE of my plushies out of my "collection". I know it's a long shot. It happened years ago. I don't do plush and beanbag collections... just enough for the first achievement. I filed a ticket when it happened. They said "no". sigh hangs head A feature to fix mistakes like that would be helpful. :) Like a coupon for one free removal???? :) :) :) Maybe??.... okay... you think about it. :D

I know the free shop has become a meme in the News comments but I really had a ton of fun digging through it for items. (This is not a plea for its return, don't worry!) I remember finding a in there when there was none in user shops and thinking I struck it rich. 😭

I have some fond memories of trivia too! I have plot participation but I don't remember doing them and definitely didn't appreciate the effort that went into them when I was a kid. 😭 I was too shy to engage with the social elements of the site like the forums or shoutbox but I probably spared myself from some embarrassment.

Survival and masquerade are always my favorite events. I love seeing other user's outfits in the ballroom (I have so many creepshots of strangers) during masq. I also think the avatar integration of needing a mask to having a certain skin equipped is cute.

Something I'd Love to See

• I have yet to toy with the beta wardrobe features but I would LOVE to be able to filter items by colors and keywords like “eyes”. Similar to the tagging system added to the vault?
• HOME APPLIANCE VENDING (which may be included in the new Kumos vending, I can't remember? But there are so many quests who ask for home items now.)
• A legacy skin/option for the inevitable Kumos switch that keeps the new Kumos features but retains the simple nostalgia of legacy Subeta layout.
• More lore/worldbuilding is always welcomed!

Other This was a cute way of testing this feature! I enjoyed reading through the posts but there's no way of navigating to a specific page like on legacy forums. Again, I'm unsure if this is just an overall Kumos forums thing or if it's exclusive to this thread.

During the Bad Omen plot I made a great friend who I kept in contact with for years! Through multiple Subeta hiatuses, but we were always still so happy to hear from eachother after so long. Right now she seems to be on hiatus but I'll be hopeful we can catch up soon. It's just so nice to be able to click with people who are so far away IRL <3

I blame !! For everything hehehehhe She got me to join up again and I pretty much haven't left! I did have an account when I was younger and was pleasantly surprised to see my fav pet, the Mortiking was still around and now even cuter!?

Honestly I really enjoy every event here and the cute items I get to collect since I joined the site so late. First time I did survival really made me stay.

No really a memory but the community is so pleasant.

I met my best friend here on Subeta.

The user formerly known as Flux a.k.a Awena until she "quit". We met here on the forums here and started chatting, decided to meet up despite living in 2 different countries (She: Scotland, me: Belgium). That was september 2012! Since then we have celebrated pretty much every birthday together when she isn't living abroad, we have stayed over at each others houses, we have toured the Scottish highlands, we have toured Belgium. 13 years of friendship already thanks to the Subeta forums!

Second favourite memory is that time that I ran a google adwords campaign to get refferals for the sticker that I needed. And Awena and I decided to change our usernames to get referrals (I was Google) and we pissed Keith off by being so cheeky so he changed our usernames back.

Something I'd Love to See

Something I would love to see back is a quest a ton.

Or we once upon a time had an event where you gathered "tickets" by doing things on site like entering the potion lottery, doing quests, playing games etc and that we joined a lottery with the amount of tickets we had.

Something new I would love to see is a place to check which battledome challengers I'm still missing from those monthly cash shop items.

Well, the first thing to came to mind... I'm not sure if it counts since it's sad? I remember, right when I got the news my grandma passed away in Spring 2019 I was on Subeta and I got from the Coda Caves. I've kept it locked in my invetory ever since! My grandma loved dogs, and the minion is so adorable and I kinda see it as a symbol of hope.

I also would play Subeta on free time during my last year of highschool, and I remember making treasure chest collections and having my friend help me sort the items but color. One day I had a panic attack at school and I printed out pictures of my favorite Subeta items and pets and cut them out and put the pictures in my binder, it helped me feel better. :) Subeta is very special to me.

I'd like to see Kumos get recolors/themes for the website. I've been using the secret Morostide theme on the main site for a very long time, so I'd like to be able to change the green on Kumos to autmmn oranges and browns. :)

I have many great memories from Subeta, from meeting sweet friends, to awesome restocks. One of my favorites was battling. The slow and methodical building of the armory, obtaining higher levels, and the sometimes the nail-biting wins that occur. The drama is awesome!

I would love to see team battles happen, where we are paired with different folks who battle, and have opponents who can only be defeated by a group.

I've made rl friends from 17yrs ago on Subeta, and still making new friends. I remember finally getting Kitty Following after having it on my wishlist around 15yrs. But most of all, I remember the times I could sink myself into the world of Subeta to avoid real life, as I have several chronic illnesses (I have 7 different Specialists at the same hospital) and all on a pension. I even got my wife into Subeta! Our first Masquerade together!

I'd like to see the more common potion prices come back down. Many years ago I had a couple of pet's I could throw a potion on any day because they were under 3k ( think?) Like Common, Dawn, Dusk, Aqua, Arid, Sun,Twilight, etc

I have been on Subeta for lots of years now.. I still have a lot of loyalty boxes in my inventory to show for it. Met some cool people. One fond memory of mine is sharing a lot of art for free. I painted a lot of freebies over the years for events like Morostide. Occassionally I still see people using them on the forum which warms my heart.

I still remember the tea house that was promised, but it never really made it into existence I think. I never paid too much attention, but I would love to see it someday.

My favorite thing here were the Quest-A-Thons. I love doing quests but it was even better because everyone scrambled to do as many as possible, with people throwing around GA medals so everyone participating got a few rounds more, and the daily celebrations in the forums when the communal count got higher. I was never as active here as then!

Special shoutout to the day we made something from Subeta in Real Life. I can't remember if it was during a plot or just a forum game, and it was so long ago that none of my friends from then is still here. But I fondly remember standing in the kitchen making fries to recreate an item, while hanging out in the forums where everyone tried the same. It was so stressful (affectionate) for no reason xD

I would like to see battle challengers from past events re-released. I wasn't into battling in those days so missed out.

Pirates vs Islanders War What made this war so great were the teams. You choose which side to join. Then every battle gave you points for the prize shop and points towards your team's total. There were challengers for all size pets so even people with small pets could grind out good prizes if they put in the effort. The forums for each side were fun places to hang out as you battled: we helped each other with advice, lending weapons, and cheering each other on. I ran an armory for my team that constantly cycled weapons to players as they went on and offline. As much as I like personal accomplishments while battling, it was as thrilling to be part of a team.

Something I'd Love to See

While I don't think Subeta has the resources for another war like that, I'd love to see more team events. Few things energize people like being part of a group and sharing a common goal. A friendly low stakes competition with teams would be fun respite from a real world increasingly about the opposite kind of competition.

My favourite memory is when a first user added me as a friend - I'm not a very soaciable person, and you won't find me in discussions on Subeta, so I thought I will never have friends here - now I have few of them and I enjoy giving gifts to them during Lumi - and also opening the gifts when the time comes is really heartwarming, because it shows me that even living on the other side of the planet, there's so much that we share.

I always loved Quest-A-Thons! Sometimes, I wasn't motivated enough to complete quests, but this event always made me log in and do all the quests. I would love to see one coming in the future. Also, I rember a bank where we got interests based on how much we had saved in the bank - it was kinda cool, but I understand that in a long term it doesn't make much sense and it decrease the engagement in quests etc.

I want to thank everyone for making Subeta the way it is. It was so random I found the site - I am from Czech Republic and I was like 15 yo when I discovered this whole world that I fell in love with and that helped me overcome some difficult situations in life when I felt really down - now I'm 28 and I'm lookign forward to making some new memories here.

After losing an account I treasured on a different petsite, Subeta became my new home...and I've stayed/lurked here ever since 🫶

Fondest memory would have to be the day I first joined the site. My Legacy pets (barring a few newer ones with name changes) have been part of my life for well over 19 years, and I still adore them all! (I have yet to be able to devote time to petpages yet; alas, offline life of department store retail makes one so very T I R E D ='D)

Oh! Also having met folks on here that are site-besties (& also RL buddies) is another thing I love about Subeta! The Community has remained so active throughout the years and it's easy to pop up outta nowhere and shower someone with flowers, pelt with snowballs or Trick or Treat and disappear back into the shadows, hehehe XD

Everything that's currently being DONE to the site to make it more stable and up-n-running smoothly is already what I love to see here =D The return of Paypal to purchase CSC via Kumos was VERY MUCH appreciated; I couldn't support the site until it was re-implemented and I missed being able to support y'all!

If there was something I'd like to see implemented in the future...uhh?...hmm...maaaaybe...a Legacy Subeta toggle option for Kumos? Like keep the functionality of Kumos but have the layout of old Subeta for nostalgic reasons? I do like Kumos' functionality...but I love the old layout, it's been part of my time here for forever ^^;

I know it's probably going to take a LOT of manpower/hours to have that considered doable, which you don't have currently, but...it's food for thought for a future Kumos build :)

I've only been here 2 weeks so there isn't much of a memory to speak of yet, but I've been having fun so far! I've found someone who I'm randomly swapping stickers with and that was a lot of fun!

Plots. I'm really interested in plots but I heard there hasn't been a real plot in this game since 2024 and that's a bummer for a new commer like me. Really want to see plots and big site events.

I remember when fifty users online would crash the site or trigger a lagmonster attack. That minion used to be a real villain. I remember the IRC. I remember many people who don't play anymore. I still love those who do. And I remember when the wardrobe layers were so hard to use that we needed Mauve to help! All that - and so much more. This still makes me laugh:

I remember when I first started playing Subeta (10+ years ago now!) and loving it so much that I got a few of my work colleagues to start playing too. We would play so much at work that we actually got the site blocked on our work servers! Happy memories!

I fondly remember the Holiday Shop, which unfortunately closed many years ago. It was a shop where you could get everything, and you had to be quick to restock. I always enjoyed it very much.

It would be nice if we could have a shop like that again, one that doesn't specialize in anything and where you can get everything. Since the shop no longer exists, it is of course not possible to take pictures of it. Regularly add new items to the shops, perhaps on a fixed day each month. For example, restock all shops on the 3rd of each month, or alternately, with a discount to finally bring some variety to the game.
