The option to get new copies of older items is pretty neat, and it's very nice to have this explained, all that aside, could we maybe get some sort of response over on the thread about the new quests on kumos? it's been a long time since it last got a response from staff.
As someone who naively sold old Melody Items in the past, I honestly really like this!

Makes sense. (I can't wait to see this new color!)
But I have questions about the implementation. Specifically:
Is this just an error in choosing images to display, or is there actually a chance of receiving those older items? Most of the items I personally am missing are from 2004 through 2007, so it makes a difference to me.
[edit] Per conversation in the news comments, it seems "2009", at least, really is awarding older items. (Not sure what the deal is with "2010".)
I love having the possibility of getting older items like with the past few events. Although I haven't missed Luminaire for many years, there were many items that were multiuse such as wearable and food. This will give me a chance to get them. I have missed some of the other holidays, or wasn't able to get everything I wanted during them, the way things are now is allowing me to get some of the things that I really wanted, but were almost unbuyable with how expensive they are. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
I remember almost ten years ago, there was a job opening for artists-- my power went out that week so I couldn't get my portfolio together (not that it was good enough) but I was so excited at the prospect. If there are any openings going forward, I'll be sure to give it my best shot. <3 I love this site and happy two decades!
i love this change; melody has been super resource intensive in terms of art & new items, and as someone with pets that eat & read & i use the HA system a lot - needing multiples of new items every year to get all the uses out of them was really annoying and expensive. there are A LOT of old items a lot of people still need & that can be put into circulation like this! yay
Having missed things off and on in the past, I really appreciate this new format. Thank you so much!

Love this change thank you.
Is there any chance for older items from 2008 or lower, is from 2006 Melody. Any way for that to be added to rotation? Sorry to keep asking.
Love this approach to bringing back old goodies, especially for things that had multiple uses. (eyeing all those edible wearables) But how come the blast from the past stops at 2009?
I think this is an awesome change. I've been a user for nearly 19 years now, and I completely agree that some things shouldn't be continued forever Just Because. A flood of constant new items that become worthless is exhausting from a user standpoint, too! I know I speak for everyone (or hopefully at least most people) when I say we all appreciate that you're looking out for the betterment of Subeta, not just keeping things going for the sake of it.
I love things so far and thanks for sharing the reasons that inspired the changes!
Thanks and looking forward to this and seeing what older items come out.

Ah, this makes a lot of sense! I was a little confused, and while I have been quite faithful with my Melody visits, there are still items I wouldn't mind a second one of. This seems like a very balanced way to have a chance to get those without flooding the site with new things.
This is a wonderful change! Seeing the site adapt and evolve over the years has been fun, and I'm glad to see the team taking into consideration where it needs to go in the future. Thank you for all that you do, staff!

I love and support this! Love the old items, love the sustainability!

Honestly I completely see why this change is necessary and I'm here for it. I know it's a lot of pressure on the artists to get everything out for December too, and I'm more than happy to have their efforts go to features with more lasting gameplay impact! I know how hard everyone's working behind the scenes and how much of a labor of love it is to keep Subeta going, and I know that change (both front and back of house) are necessary not just to keep the site alive, but to help it sustain and grow in the future. So bring on the changes! I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Thank you to everyone for keeping the site alive for all of these years, too. If I ever get rich, Subeta's getting dividends.
Time sure flies, huh? I think this is a perfectly valid reason for the changes, and a very userfriendly way of approaching the issue. It makes me happy to know new users now get to experience the spirit of Luminaires past and its items. It also makes it a bit more fun in my opinion, since you never fully know what you might get.

Love the new change for it honestly!
My one big HOWEVER is that i have no idea what item pools i don't have things from. Or what's in each. Also, any chance for a 'random' button to just pick from the entire pool for people who care less about specifics?
