Well, I've been TRYING to buy from SG on Kumos, but there's only ever the same 4-5 items getting restocked. And now when I try to buy anything from any Kumos shop, it just refreshes the page, and I don't get the item. So I can't buy on Kumos at all.
Meanwhile the legacy SG is always empty because it's still getting bought out as soon as it restocks. I hate to complain, but now there's basically no option for buying spell ingredients except from user shops, and with those prices inflated by the users who somehow have hundreds of an item in stock... I suppose I picked a bad time to start making scrolls.
I feel like it's not right to let RSers (potentially) cheat on the legacy site, with the only fix being "well if you're going to complain about it, we'll just take the shop away and make you use Kumos"... especially when the Kumos shop doesn't work. I dislike having to use three different sites to play Subeta (legacy, "new," and Kumos), with crucial elements broken on all three of them... and the focus right now is on fixing the fishing game? not the shops, or the quests, or the wardrobe... I'm about ready to take another hiatus and hope things are better when I come back in a couple more years.
I was SHOCKED when that was the response given in discord. Honestly, I still am completely and utterly shocked. I think an easier fix would be to see whose inventory is holding all those spell ingredients and take action against them. These tasks were done back in the day. I restocked 7 Oracles Staff of Enlightenment from the Free Shop legitimately, but they were each removed from my account because they were added to the shop in error. So it's possible to track down items in accounts. I think tracking down those items/user makes a lot more sense than closing the legacy shop when the Kumos shop is not up to par. Certainly, the last 'solution' I would consider is penalizing all the rule-abiding users by closing a shop and implementing a five minute rule between restocks on Kumos. I only play the game though.

Getting rid of Spells Galore on legacy won't make people hoard at all. Nope. Hoarding? What hoarding?
Yeah, I don't see how tracking down who's using a bot and icing them is a "major change." And like brokensafety said, I would think it'd be pretty easy to find out who's doing it. It feels more like yet another "we don't care about this problem* so we're not going to bother fixing it" situation.
*because someone cheating by autobuying cheap items doesn't affect the site's income. If it was the cash shop or CW market affected, I bet the issue would get more attention...
I get that the idea is migrating from legacy to kumos site for restocking, but I'm flabbergasted why the bot is being allowed to continue. It gives an unfair advantage to a user and is breaking site rules, right?? So why not deal with the user? Who is to say that it'll stop at spells galore legacy and won't follow to kumos site? But also, it's breaking site rules. I agree with that the response rubs me the wrong way. It's the principle of the matter.
edit: I caught a recent restock and nabbed Wavy Athame which was last of three items restocked and of most value. A real user would've known to go for that one or still the more valuable Coral (to the first item).
Same has happened to me with restocking. I've been able to get more valuable/rare items from the middle of the stock a couple times (best was a Holy Water), while the bot buys up the items one by one from the front.
(And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one bothered by the response to this issue! It's definitely the principle that bothers me, although I wouldn't mind nearly as much if restocking was possible in the Kumos SG. But unless you want Monkey Brains and the occasional Wolf Tooth, there's not much there lol.)
Edit to add: I'm wondering if the bot/script is triggered when an actual user purchases from the shop. Just now, and several times before, I've checked and the last restock was several minutes ago (8 in this case), but there were several items still in the shop. But as soon as I buy one, the stock starts disappearing starting from the first item.
There were five or so items in the shop, with 2-3 of each item with 8 minutes since the last restock. I bought a couple things, went to edit this post, and checked again. Now, at 10 minutes past restock, the shop is empty again. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it's happened so many times now that I doubt it.
That honestly makes me so frustrated. This person is still breaking the rules. They should still be held accountable for doing so. If subeta staff is going to let the bot scammer get away with breaking the rules, is it okay if we start breaking other ones too with NO REPRECUSSIONS?? You can't let one person get away with something and not let everyone else too. It shouldn't matter what site it's on. Seriously. WHY AREN'T THEY BEING STOPPED AND ICED??? >.< Not. Acceptable.
the CSC hustler has been broken for a full year now, they don't even prioritize cash shop fixes that would actually bring in money. People kept trying to ping him back to the report topic every couple months but, well... ยฏโ โ _โ (โ ใโ )โ _โ /โ ยฏ
edit: okay apparently it was just added to the other site with no notification or announcement or even a reply to the thread whatsoever a month ago after a solid year. what the fuck?

Oh yeah, sorry! I forgot about the Hustler being broken. I had no idea he was added to Kumos either.
I usually also start buying items at the top left, unless I see something, I don't have enough of yet. Or remember, that it's not the best tactic, lol. Why should this be a bot? Many users try to get their stuff there now, because Kumos Wizard wants them.
Legacy Spells Galore is currently holding stock much longer than previously! Either the bot user caught wind of the outrage and turned it off or staff took action against them. I expect the former, but I hope for the latter!
Edit: It just started up again at about 8:35pm. There was definitely no activity for a bit and a full shop.

Is it possible to join the discord and filter out all posts that aren't Keith's so we can know what's going on? "All legacy shops will be removed soon" is huge. It feels so impossible keeping up with what's updating, how it's updating, etc.
Kind of where I've been at with it. Slow updates are one thing, I know it's basically just Keith working on everything himself, but giving feedback is its own level of frustration and confusion with a lot of these features. Kind of want to just zone out and come back when Kumos is a functioning site.
Yeah occasionally when I've checked in, there's been a lot of stock. But it seems like as soon as I buy something, the steady depletion of stock starts up again. I've given up on anything being done about it though :
Same, I don't mind the slow updates to Kumos at all. It's just frustrating when we report problems or give feedback about something, only for it to be either ignored, brushed off as unimportant, or addressed offsite. I don't like that we're expected to join the Discord if we want to know what's going on; I'd rather spend what free time I have actually using Subeta, not monitoring the server.
I'm really only here for the pet-related parts of the site, and those haven't been a priority to staff in a long time, so there's not much reason for me to stay super active anyway :
I can't believe that a bot is allowed to just run amok and the solution is to use the other shop which also doesn't work because the shops don't have Keith's interest right now.
Maybe they work a bit better now because I only just checked Spells Galore on Kumos, but I gave them a lot of chances in the past and they always ended up doing things that Keith said they wouldn't do, so I stopped trying to work with them.
Yes! I am so surprised to see "Keith had info about this on discord" and I did just look at the discord to see for myself.
So in addition to pets not being a major focus, on-site forums are also neglected. :(
And tbh why is the fishing game the thing that got worked on this week? xD Just me being sassy now, it's not like there is a roadmap or any one area of focus.
I do really love Subeta. I just don't love interacting with alpha features, or trying to keep up with updates on multiple platforms. I stopped restocking my shop last year as it seems more valuable to sit on the items for when we're finally using kumos full-time. Tho that will probably be a couple years like you said.
Anyway, I did witness this phenomenon in the shop this evening. Went to check it out and saw a relatively full shop. Bought a few items randomly- the items started getting bought up until none were left. I went to try restocking on Kumos and I don't fully understand the cooldown timers. Sometimes when I click it will buy an item, sometimes not. Part of me wants to dig through random posts to find info on it, and the wiser part of me knows it will probably change, break, or both in the next month or so, so there's really no point.
the fact that we just now found out that legacy shops are being axed soon though a user made forum post and not, yknow, a staff appointed post is actually baffling. and to hear that there isnt even a dedicated site update channel, oof.
no announcement on the main site and a bot/script thing being ignored? double oof.
just a little thing I've figured out from restocking and doing the quests on Kumos, the reason you are clicking on items and the shop just refreshes is NOT as far as I'm aware due to a cooldown. it is in fact, because you can only buy one of certain items for that set day. basically anything with a higher rarity and value allows you to only purchase one of them a day. whereas cheap or low value items can be purchased from what I can tell in quantities of 5, 10, or 25? at least that's what I've pieced together.
The thing that scares me isn't the bot. It's the possibility moves everything over to Kumos too soon. Says legacy is gone now, use Kumos. -We don't get a say. Kumos keeps breaking down over and over again in what feels like an infinite loop. Than we get a white screen with text saying thank you for all the amazing years with Subeta speech.
I feel this , it seems like Legacy is ALL I really use. I only just started to use Kumos for the new quests & shops, but they don't stock the same way as legacy. the pages are IMO ugly and hard to use. I like to hover over items and get the HA preview or description. I LOVE Subeta and am glad it's still around, but I hate to see Legacy go.
