Chinchillas are the softest, most cuddly, lovable little rodents ever! As smart as a rat and as adorable as a sugar glider, they look like little mouse-bunnies. It's an awful shame that the fur coat industry has nearly wiped them out in the wild.
I totally agree with you regarding both the beauty and adorableness of the chinchillas and the horrors of the fur trade. I was just teasing (I once had 2 pet rats named Scribbles and Doodles. They were very sweet, loving and only came out for me and no one else).
Ah, rats are so cool. I had a sable hooded rex named Curly Joe for almost 3 years. He would do tricks, like ride a mini skateboard, just to get attention. It was heartbreaking when he passed. My friend got me two chinchillas because they tended to live much longer. Of course, that meant I was that much more attached when age overtook them 13 years later.
