I remember back when I was like 13 and down the Jersey Shore with all the families. (Italians all go together). My cousin was 1 month older than me and she was a real pain. I liked being alone and she was a tagalonger. I was breaking open huge clams by the water and accidentally ripped open the top of my thumb. No big deal. I had it under control. I walked over to the Lifeguard station, with blood squirting everywhere and asked them to fix me up. She saw the lifeguard and flew over to where I was. She wasnt concerned about my thumb. She was all goo goo eyes at the Lifeguard. I was like - "dont embarrass me please". She had me on total ignore as she was heavy flirting with someone 6 years older than herself. Until all of a sudden a seagull flew over us and totally crapped all over her head and back. She wanted to evaporate but I was already on the ground in stitches. Even the Lifeguard was laughing. I have never ever forgotten the look on her face to this day! LOL

Ah you sound exactly like my mom who was similar ages for her children.
