. Yeah, most Cajun cooking is pretty spice heavy. I’m one of those nuts that’ll pour maple syrup over just about everything, including fried chicken, but fried grits is basically just a type of cornmeal mush fried on good old bacon grease. Bacon makes everything better. Good luck with the bath house streak!
Once when I was in New Orleans I behaved very badly when I was served what I thought would be yummy toast only to find out it was ruined with sugar all over it. My idea of a good breakfast is buttered toast, eggs sunny side up and hash browns.

LOL, I feel bad looking back on it, but at the time I was pissed at the ruin of what could have been a nice breakfast. I'm sure the waitress was just as angry at me for my behavior.

Hello Bears!!
It's been a busy couple of weeks ( isn't it always? ) here in Glen Meadow. The thaw started in earnest, only for there to be a small series of storms that dropped another foot of snow in our area. We had to send out the Watcher Corps all over the watershed to advise some of the smaller creatures ( and the bears....tsk! ) that it was not advisable to rehibernate. Never tell a lemming to not take a nap, they'll bite your face!
Two weeks ago, my Author, and his kids came up for a day visit and I got to go fishing with them in Shaver Lake for a few hours. They all got skunked, no fish. Mark did a face-plant, banged up his knees and tasted Sierra Nevada dirt on the way back up the rocky trail back to the car. He's OK. He's older than his brain thinks he is. (doofus)
Thursday, Mark and Jennifer drove from Fresno to The World of the Lost Angels to attend a Boba Drink Party for a semi-famous website that we're not allowed to even hint about. Lots of merch, great boba drinks, furry mascots, funny hats, plushies, nerdy humans. I have pictures somewhere. Maybe I'll post them. It was near Hollywood. They also went to Central Tokyo Market near Torrence and Jennifer spent a lot of money on her favorite rice crackers. Mark got ink sticks for his growing collection and they brought me back smoked, dried halibut chips. They each had sandos for lunch, but ZI didn't get one.
Yesterday, Mark, Stephanie, Danny and Olivia returned to see me and took me and Weldon fishing at Dinkey Creek. Danny caught the first trout of the day (his first trout ever! ) and then caught the second trout. Mark caught a nice rainbow trout and didn't fall in the creek or on the trail. They took me to Shaver Lake Pizza for late lunch before they left for home. ( Stephanie got skunked again...PSB! ) Not bad for an overcast day with rain and threat of more snow...
: Happy Birthday!
