Keith said that the sP amounts are gonna be rebalanced, the amounts we're getting now are just for testing.
Subeta has an absurd amount of currencies and it's a good thing that we have things that will be merged. We have 18 currencies in the currency pages, and there are technically more (hi battle tokens). It's a lot, and QuestPoints are one of the easily replacable currencies.
Less currencies also make SP more valuable in the long run and short run.
If you click on the item, it'll take you to that 'item page', which 5 of the cheapest shop search results. You can buy directly from there!
I'm going to continue to refine this, and shop search will get it's own page, but we're building the new site brick by brick 🧱

I have done two Hustler quests. I lost 400K sp on the first, and 300K on the second, so I think I'll be skipping those in the future.
Also, I note my reputation points go up at the top, but under the bar it says 0 to whatever. Is that zero supposed to be changing as well? Or is just to show the range of points?
I'd give it another couple days (unless you're really strapped!), i'll be tweaking it - I'd like it to feel more successful than that!
and that is the range, you have a number there for how much you have. i'll make that way more clear!

Words cannot describe how much I detest NPC reputation systems. Especially if they break down after X amount of time or reset after while and I have to start from the very bottom.
Unless we're talking Dragon Age Inquisition style that would maintain its level and not Dragon Age 2 where things would just be locked off after a certain low threshold was hit and tough crap after that. Destiny had the ones that would reset after a "season."
Not to mention, rep systems makes my anxiety skyrocket so I simply do not deal with them. I'll be passing this up as a whole, thank you very much. Pity though, questing used to be fun. It doesn't have to always be a contest.

Kinda curious as to what’s going to happen with the wizard quest buff. Is that going to be eliminated?
I think it's mentioned on the first page (and I just added the "view official posts" to make this easier for me too 😰) but lots of the buffs will be re-worked to go with the new system. Instead of being RNG, they'll go with the new reputation tiers. And in cases of things like the wizard giving you a bonus token for the last quest, that still happens.
Can you walk me through how the current system is fun, what you'd like to keep (outside of the reputation system, of course, you've provided that feedback) and what you might add for fun?

- Just curious if you do quests now. If you do, perhaps you'd still enjoy just doing the quests for the monetary gain or the items (since they are way easier to do with the new system), and ignore the reputation bit of it if that bothers you.
omG, Maleria asked me for a Fireball Scroll... that's my punishment for mentioning the secluded shrine having become obsolete... Having to spend quite much time building a scroll is even worse than Quentin's Holiday Shop demands - I guess I'll go off and do Drill's instead, lol. And I think, everybody is giving out way too many items...
Next scroll she wants. And it needs Fly Wings to build - haven't had much chance to restock on those after the site ate my endless resources...
Wasn't talk to speed up quests? The old ones take up a ton of time already, but this is really bad :-( Maleria has always been my best liked (already back when she wanted dark items) I have a threshold of her favourite goods in my vault and she is giving out sP only like Cinthia.
- Nah, not strapped at all, so maybe I'll give it another whirl if you reset them tomorrow.
Question: "now, quest givers have a finite stock of items to hand out. their inventory will decrease as they give them out." So, when those items are gone, will they get another stock of the same items, or a different set of items to give out? Just wondering about too much saturation with a set number of prizes.
Don't know, if this is just a bad draw, yet Rumi asked for 3 items totalling over 6.600 sP in main shops (more in usershops) and the reward was 6.733 sP and a 2.358 sP (less in usershops) item. I feel, this isn't worth doing a 3 item quest.
Edit: Hm, next one 6.800 sP in main, less in user shops, reward 6.712 sP and the very same item as before.
3rd one items cost over 6.600 and a little less in usershops, reward 5.906 and a 2.200/1.697 sP item.
Not complaining, just showng details. This set up gives neither money nor good items, only rep points, if one is going SOLELY for those. Hard work with 3 items to get and over a month of regular questing - if I understand the rep bar correctly, we need 100 points to progress to next level? I hope this guy will not have books and battle stuff in his shop, rofl.
speaking of: if we skip certain NPCs, we'll only learn from other players, what they sell in their rep shop, and after years, we'll regret having neglected them, because on level 10 come items that we need? And only then we start the grinding - again? This feels very scary... When I fled here from Neo, I started training my pet from day one, because I regretted not having done that on Neo. But training a pet for battle makes sense, because I KNOW it'll pay off. Sacrificing tons of time doing quests, the rep shop of which MAY eventually hold items I need/want... that's poor gambling - and we all know, that usually backfires into the wrong direction.
Why is the Wizard only giving out 15 Tokens anymore (for only 3 quests - which basically is the amount in plan for the future), but rare books galore, which are not worth anything anymore (became even less valuable over the past days due to quests). 3.000 sP also isn't the world. Again, always assuming, this is meant as plan for when these quests go live.
Btw. thanks for making the rep bar static!
i’m continuing to tweak prizes and requests, especially as i add more functionality to what quest givers can ask for or give. for now, it might make sense to just try one of each quest per day (or revisit later), since the feature is resetting often.
what i’m looking for right now is feedback on the flow of the quests and the general idea of how they’re working—not detailed feedback on specific requests or prizes yet. that’s on me for not being clearer about what i’m testing or where feedback will be most useful! if you feel like the balance isn’t there yet, feel free to step back and revisit in a few days—testing isn’t required, and reputations and progress will all reset before the feature goes live.
i also just added functionality for requesting scrolls and potions, so what i’m testing is whether those requests are working and if the system is correctly balancing their costs against rewards.
and keep in mind that while you're doing the manual work to make those scrolls, most users, right now, will just buy them up while they're cheap in user shops. that's what determines the price of the prize you get at the end, is a combination of what it thinks the items are valued at. as the cheaper ones get bought up, that should increase and the prizes might reflect what you're thinking more. and we can only do that (ask for scrolls) because she has so few quests per day, but you're probably right about the prize not being enough.
regarding your concern here:
we’re planning to build in ways to “catch up,” which we’ve done in other areas before (like item hunt). this could look like:
i also have a dashboard tracking average reputation levels (only including users who’ve started earning reputation). when we add new tiers, we’ll use that data to make sure most users are in range—or, if not, we’ll add catch-up mechanisms.
i promise, the goal is not to make you feel like you need a time machine and four years of clicking to catch up. the aim is to create clear, transparent goals that feel achievable and rewarding. 😊

That sounds good, and I know, you're still weighing everything against each other. I'm definitely not upset, if I don't make profit of the quests now - they are here for testing and come in addition to the regular ones.
I tried the quests on mobile today (you know, at work, when I was supposed to be working) and it's not too bad. I still miss being to hop from quest to quest from the quest page but hitting back on all of them works well enough.
Flow feedback!
Even removing the header (thank you!), there is still a lot of scrolling. While the site looks nice, the scrolling puts me off questing. Suggestions include:
"Sareine Buy From User Shops (cheapest: 1,879sP) Use From Inventory Use From Vault (0) Buy From Shop (1,424sP)"
Guess I'm going to have to stock up on spell ingredients! XD Also got hustled by the Hustler, oh well.
Did some more quests, time for quest flow feedback:
Double sidenote: 's post above mine is not showing up on the Kumos forum, but it shows up on the old forum. nvm took like 10 minutes but they're showing up fine now.
Maybe when you finish a quest and I think there’s a button that says something like “do another quest” - hitting that starts the next quest instead of taking you back to the page to hit the start quest button
Did Hustler eat anyone else reward? He just went right back to his main page for me and says I hit my limit. My SP went down, so I know the stuff was bought. I assume that if he was going to pull a 'run with your stuff' stunt, it would give me a notice of that's what he did.
Trying to catch up the last 5 years
Scolletta and Frost perfectly listed all possible solutions for condensing the new questpage, make it a lot sleeker and prevent scrolling. I would just have said: Make it like the current original one, lol. With links to the other quests et all. Everything we need is there, clearly laid out, big enough to see, and definitely within the realm of the screen incl. of the actually huge Subeta header without any need to scroll AT ALL (in spite of often 4 reward items + sP) throughout questing from beginning to end. Never change a running system ;-) - or try, to improve from there, not start out with smthg completly new from scratch.
Knowledge of main shop price is essential - I think you said, the "real" item info and hovers with account and shop search are going to be implemented again?
I'd prefer there was no initial check on any of the option where to get the quest item from, but that we choose ourselves?
I also second the part of (because of all the missing stuff) now working on legacy to get the items for the Kumos quests, which of course make them tedious to accomplish. Yeah, we know, this is all still under construction and has to be programmed and implemented yet.
