I've posted on multiple pages the reason the check boxes can't come back - I'm sorry, they aren't coming back! I'm going to shift the top bar widget to have the same information on the quest page, and the buttons there as well (so you can shop search, user search, etc) and have it bring you to another tab. Having them as radio / checkboxes on the page itself did not work - we got tons of bugs reports (on this thread!) that were tied back to that implementation.
However - I WILL BE GONE FOR A WEEK 🚢. I'm leaving today for a week long cruise, and won't have access to the internet (unless I want to pay $500 for the internet package which.... i do not). As a reminder, I'm the only programmer right now on Subeta, so outside of high priority bug fixes that I can do from my phone, there won't be a ton of updates over the next week.
I've pushed an update to ✨ make the quests reset daily ✨ while I'm gone, so that you can continue doing these quests and moving items around the site. My major priorities once I get back:
Thank you everyone for testing! This is my first time going basically entirely offline for a week since 2016, so 🤞
💖 ✨ 🤗
Yeah we'll keep our fingers crossed that it works out, have a nice trip!
Cruise! How great! Enjoy, get a rest and have a wonderful time!
Thank you Keith! Hope you enjoy your vacation.
Enjoy your cruise, have a wonderful time 😊
Right now you can hover over the site shops icon when questing and hovering over it shows you what the price is in the site shops but the only way to know what the price is in the user shop is to click on it and see. I was thinking maybe you could hover over the user shop icon and see what the lowest price is ther as well. Like you can on the site shops so you can click on the one with the lowest price.
I know the check boxes aren't coming back, that doesn't mean I like the top bar system.
Still experiencing all the same issues as my prior feedback post: the site's lag and netcode often means there's a multi-second delay between buying an item and being able to turn it in or finish the quest. I've only done 7 as of this writing (5 of Maybel's, 2 of Pete's) and I've already had to refresh my page 3 times to get the site to register that I actually own an item I just bought.
Still feels clunky and unresponsive, completely lacks the snappiness and simplicity that made the checkboxes enjoyable. I'm not bothered if we don't go back to that exact system, what I miss is the speed that said system offered. It let me complete quests quickly without needing to constantly jump around the site and be at the mercy of lag and high site traffic.
Also now encountering a bug when handing in items brought from NPC shops instead of user shops where I get a 404 error when attempting to turn them in. Navigating away from the quest page and back again fixes the issue but it's happened twice now.

Just tried a quest on desktop and hardly encountered any lag which is fab.
As far as I can tell, the top bar is where you actually complete the quest, and the quest page itself is redundant? I.e. the shop search button is in the top bar, as is the complete quest button. So what is the point of the quest page? The spacing on this is also all over the place.
I also only see the icon to user shop search. Therefore, I opened up legacy subeta and used this to shop search in order to get NPC shop results. On doing this, I was reminded how much easier the legacy shop search is to use.
I appreciate the legacy site is a coding nightmare and it's way beyond my ability to understand the ins and outs of this, but why can't the look / functionality of legacy site just be transplanted into the new site? I've never done a shop search and thought, "hey I hate this and wish it was different".
Initially I was super positive about elements such as 'reputation' which could be integrated nicely into the existing quest structure we have. Reducing the number of quests and upping the rewards is a step in the right direction too. As is having some quests harder to complete such as making a scroll for Maleria. But so far, these changes are at the detriment to the user experience.
Okay, a weird thng happened. I was doing Saggis quests, and he asked for an item that wasn't available in user shops, so I quit the quest. Then I did the remaining Saggi quests...only it took me a while to realize I could do too many of them, because the limit wasn't working. No matter how many quests I did, it was always "Daily Limit: 5 of 3 + 2 quests remaining".
I clicked on Saggi and it's showing stickers instead.
Newest Opera, up to date Windows 10.
Have fun on your cruise! I just got back from one a couple weeks ago. So much fun. :3
Anyway, sidetracked. I might have found a weird...glitch? The site lagged for a moment. It gave me the "You started a quest" message without the quest bar popping up or getting assigned any tasks. I refreshed a few times, tried clicking the Start Quest a few times, and even tried starting other quest, no tasks. Eventually, taskes were assigned and the bar also popped up. When it did, it apparently queued up all the times I Started Quest, so as soon as I was done with one, It started the next one right away.
Trying to catch up the last 5 years
If buying from an NPC shop is the last thing I need to do before hitting Complete Quest, and I click "Complete Quest" before the "after purchase shop page" loads, I get a 404 (or 402?) nearly full screen "pop up"/overlay. This only happened with the Maybel quests, even after trying to force it to happen with the other quest givers.
Feedback:
-Experiencing similar errors to the above posts when questing -I personally miss being able to see if I have a quest required plushie/beanbag in my collection already or be able to add it if I don't, so yes it's a double purchase but it serves a purpose -Quest Rewards matching the spending cost??? Oh my lanta I enjoy that a lot
Nice and smooth. I've got the hang of these quests now.
Only one 404 error while getting my reward for completing Maybel's quest.
One more quest for Wizard and I go up a level. :D
top bar is growing on us now, but still wish we'd be able to see at a glance what the usershop prices are compared to the npc shops! best part of legacy is being able to see both at a glance, it makes things easier haha. lag has also cleared up nicely, only getting a few 404 errors and no sticking issues with quest givers not wanting their items!
wondering what will happen with the quest page, as it feels redundant with the top widget...
also have noticed that buttons are very jumpy, and depending what's on the screen, the complete quest and quit quests can be very jittery, don't know if its lag but woof we've nearly clicked on quit a couple of times due to the jitter! dunno if its catered more towards mobile layout but we do subeta stuff on desktop.
cant even say that bro is touching grass because he out on the water, but enjoy not having social media and nonsense in your face, deserved break
Can anyone tell me if doing a Saggi quest (here on Kumos, not regular subeta) where he asks for an item over 1mil is worth it? I cancelled it, because the item was 2mil. But I have noticed that in general I get more than what I spend every quest. But I didn't know if there was (maybe?) a cap on how much sP the NPC gives back, so there is a limit I should stop buying items at?
Also I would like to ask why the quests aren't showing if the item is available in my account/shop anymore? I liked that. I also agree that I like having the user shops and site shops visible at the same time like on the legacy site.
Also I probably missed it, but is there a spot somewhere that I can see what differences or upgrades you get each time you level up a tier of reputation?
Thanks for answering my questions! I am enjoying doing quests on here, it at least gets me able to do a few when I am unable to complete all of them on the other site due to me being too busy!
This. Quests worked nicely the last two days, but comparing prices is dull and annoying.
I third (fourth? fifth?) this.
Also, if there's a sticker (or whatever item) that I'm being asked to find for a quest that I would also like to purchase for myself, I cannot buy more than 1 of that thing from the user shops page, even after refreshing the page. I have to open up a new tab and search for the item separately. Before I never needed to do that, I could just buy the item multiple times from user shops if I wanted.

I have (accidentally) completed one of his quests where an item he asked for was over 2 mil (that's what I get for not paying attention and trying to do quests at work LOL). I did profit off it by about ~250k, so it seems like there isn't necessarily a cap on how much NPC's will reward (at least for Saggi anyway).
