hey everyone—just a quick heads-up that the forum squish is underway, and it’s going to take a few days to fully complete. during this time, you might notice forums moving around or being reorganized as we work through the updates.

this project is all about creating a more active, user-friendly forum experience. by consolidating forums, we’re hoping to make it easier to navigate and less overwhelming, especially for newer users. we’re also introducing new features to make forums more engaging and helpful:

• live threads: these function like chat rooms, with real-time updates and the option to toggle between “live” and “classic” modes. perfect for fast-paced discussions or events!
• answers: topic creators can now mark a reply as the “answer,” making it float under the original post for quick access. great for bugs, troubleshooting, and any thread where a solution needs to stand out.
• search improvements: search is back, and we’re adding more functionality soon, like filtering by forum, using multiple keywords, and splitting results into topics and posts.

we’re also working on visual improvements to make the new layout cleaner and easier to use. once the updates are complete, i’ll open a dedicated feedback forum for each feature where you can share your thoughts and suggestions. your input will be key as we tweak and refine things!

The plan is for minimods and mods to come up with an organization scheme that fits all of those boards (in progress!).

Topic creators can editor their topics any time to add labels that have been created by the mods, so we'll see the organization start to take shape over the next week or so.

Individual forums will then ask for feedback on what labels you'd like to see, and if we get a lot of very similar ones we'll keep on the same path, with "approved" labels made by mods and usable by anyone making a thread in that forum.

If it's a huge chaotic mass of labels then we'll figure out a way to allow user created labels.
