I too have struggled with Rift and Storm. I used all the tempest lightning rods I had (and then some), plus dutifully depositing things into the rift.

I mean, looking at the rift, I'm not particularly surprised at the rarity there either. I throw something in EVERY day, but I still haven't gotten the item I need from the Aug 28, 2023 release. (It was the Small Rift Storm Cloud, which is 200k sp now, and I'll just buy from the shops.) But that's over a year of attempts, with no success.

Today maybe? Pretty please with sugar and candy and cold meds as needed?

I know the difficult to obtain cookies were eventually released in an easy to get way, but I thought it would be useful to post an update. After trying daily for 105 days from release until retirement, I didn't get a single cookie from the Rift or Tempest RE. I did get them later when they were released via quests.

Yeah, we kinda need to talk about how they were rereleased, because there is a sweet spot we need to hit.

The rift and Tempest RNG was way too rare, but the odds of getting them from quests was way too high. We shouldn't have gotten like 4 cookies per day.
