Good afternoon my loves. This weekend is Homecoming at the big school we have here in Glen Meadow. All small animals go here to learn about our history, cultures, economy and trades. Glen Meadow Home was built in the old abandoned gold mine after the Great Fire of 1964 and houses not only the school, but many of the Masters of crafts and trades, the staff and instructors as well as over 300 students each semester.
Homecoming at Holland Glen Home School
Festivities will include a graduation for last semester's apprentices who earned their Journal Level I certificates. The Alumni Ball is a major event in our community that rivals the Woodland Council Spring Banquet and Ball. There will be woodland games, competitive events, an auction, and every kind of food you can imagine from sweet to savory!
As Queen of the community, I get to preside over all the fun and give out awards. I especially love awarding the prize for the small animal baby pageant. (last year a whole litter of baby skunks won paws down.) I will participate in the spear-throwing contest again this year. I'll also participate in the precision flying demonstration ( The Watchers have a squad of 30 micro-ultralight fliers and can do some very impressive precision formation flying. You haven't lived until you've witnessed 31 Weasels in aircraft diving at you from the clouds. )
It's also time for my last litter to leave home and go to school, so this is a bittersweet event for me and Weldon. We will officially be "empty denners." The pitter-patter of 28 little feet, the squeals and grunts and barks and grunting of 8 little voices ( Weldon has a tendency to join in with all the noise-making...bless his heart) will all be gone. I don't know how I'm going to survive it all. (har har har....snicker)
For those who don't know or can't remember ( like me...I have to keep this list with me all the time so that I can remember my offspring's names ) I've listed their names here, and their roles in our community.
I don't see the older ones much any more, they're busy with their careers and starting their families, some are married and others are courting mates. Such is the way of our kind. According to the Lore Master, my children will mature at a much slower rate than the others of our kind, according to the Prophesy, so I'm not expecting grandchildren for some time.
Anyway, Happy Homecoming!

Mine throw that unfinished dessert from the Bathhouse into the Rift toady.
Mine GeM threw mine a new curveball, the right taillight couldn't show it's directional function. At home mine tested the bulb, and then the wiring harness. The harness showed an open for one connection, tho not the other. Zo, mine inspected the sockets, and the tongue of the open circuit seemed to not fall back into it's original position. Mine guess it means the metal tab broke enough to cut the circuit, that can only be replaced.
Mine may try the junkyards to find a temporary replacement, for now mine may not be able to buy a new part.
Sounds like "breeding season" for Viorans, its about the only time they ever gather in mass. Imagine, 1,024,000,000 congregating for the 128 million breeders, and their Soldier chaperones. But it occurs every Vioran "century", the last was in 1986. The newest generation hasn't hibernated once.
Hi Bears. Just got home from camping at the beach...so peaceful...had a fire each night. Nothing like a campfire.
- good to see you :) Love seeing the names of each litter. Kind of sad no more babies...unless maybe there is a surprise?
I would also love to see Laurie post. Of course wish she was a regular here but even if she just pops in to say hi would be so nice.
- Thanks :) I was afraid of that. 😔
- Wow! Nice job!! Congratulations!
Woow great BHH catch!! Congrats! Did you make some s'mores over the campfire, If so I am so jealous.
: I would really love you to write out some of your story so that I could read it. NaNoWriMo.org is a place where you could get ideas on how to write and challenge yourself to write out a short novel in 30 days during November.
The junkyard is one of my most favorite places. I use to go there with my Author when he got in the habit of replacing all the engines in all his cars. Automobile parts are so fascinating.
: My mother had me and Friedrich in her very advanced old age, so it's not an impossibility for Weldon and me to have more pregnancies. She had 24 offspring and I've only had 22. I was hoping to have grandchildren first, though.
Thanks guys :)
- no S'mores this time but I did roast a couple of hot dogs over the fire...mostly I just enjoyed the warm fire with a glass of wine. I played around with a little "oven" I keep in the camper. The camper does not have an oven but does have a two burner stove...the little oven sits on a burner. I have made a cake and brownies with it and this time I made cinnamon rolls. The only fail so far was the brownies because they burned a little on the bottom...no one complained though and they were all eaten. The temp on the oven is all guesswork :P
- well never say never :P Yes, grandbabies would be nice...I hope to be a grandma one day :)
You found 50 CSC in the pool! wow
Crypts Random Event As you are walking along, you find a Golden Raptor on the floor! You quickly pocket it. You take a wrong turn into a dead end, and when you turn back on yourself, the passage behind you is completely different. You look down at your map to make a note of this change, and when you look up again, you are very near to the entrance. You look around confusedly, then decide to take a break.
Your welcome! So glad you came in for another visit. Sounds like you had a lot of fun, something makes everything taste good camping. Camper or RV is the only way to go, not a fan of cots, tents or sleeping on the ground. LMAO I got the same as you, You found 50 CSC in the pool!
Bath House
How are my bears that havent been feeling well? HUGS I hope that you are all feeling a bit better.
- my little camper is so cozy and comfortable I feel funny even calling it camping :)
We used to go camping in during the summer in Alaska, when I was a teenager. We caught salmon and dungeness crabs from the shores, and dug fresh clams. Nothing better than salmon from the water to the frying pan. Campers are my choice for camping, out of the weather. Its camping to me too. LOL
