Thank you, Keith! That worked smoothly for me.
I’m still unable to access the kumos site via iPad (like Nicole), as the header takes up the whole page. :s
Vending seems to work well (Desktop, waterfox browser). I understand the counter leads to confusion though. The questing counters count upwards, from zero to whatever the limit is. So for people new to vending it might be confusing. It's more clear at the "old" vending machines as there is text in addition to the counter, it tells you you have ... left out of ... But here it's just the counter so it might not be immediately clear if it counts up or down.
What model iPad? I've got a newer one, and a quite old (8 years?) one and even on that one the header is only about half of the page, and you can scroll.
Do you have the same problem if you turn into landscape? Not saying that's a solution, just wondering if it's the same problem!

The test worked. I received the 100 point Wizard Token on the first vend. The counter for number of vends left went down for the last four vends. My balance of Wizard Tokens went down one for the last four vends. I'm using Windows 11 and the Firefox browser.
I know you didn’t ask me but since I’m having the same problem I figured I would answer too. I tried turning the page to landscape and scrolling and it just turns to a white page at the bottom. My iPad is an iPad Air 4th generation.

Thank you! Worked fine for me, desktop binbows.
Thank you anonymous!
Thanks! Works like a charm...or like 100 "charms" :D
Thank You Keith the vending worked for me too and I did get the 100 Wizard Coin token, also thank you for the link as well because after to first testing session I couldn't find the link on the Kumos site to vend the next day after it was reset and haven't been since then, now I have the link saved in my bookmarks to find it when I need to. I appreciate everything you and the staff are doing to keep these sites going and keeping us updated on things!

Seems to be working fine for me. My first vend was the 100 Point Wizard Token and then it proceeded to count down from there each time I pressed the vend button. When I refreshed the page after vending it shows that I have 0/5 left so maybe add a little extra wording to clarify that it counts down instead of up. The timer seems accurate as well. I'm using Windows 11 and Microsoft Edge as my browser if that helps at all.
Looks good on chrome for PC! :)
Thank you!
It worked slick for me today on my old Dell laptop. Thanks for the extra tokens. :)
8th generation iPad on safari, up to date. Thank you for looking into it! :) I always use landscape (hadn’t considered trying in portrait) but portrait did the same thing.
Edit: I tried again and it loaded the same way, but then I refreshed and it worked on a different kumos page! I guess it could have somehow been a cache thing? /confused because I opened it to check several times over a period of days
Edit again: other kumos pages now seem to work fine, but I can’t access the vending page. Will try clearing the cache.
Same issue here as and . Mine’s an older one- iPad Air 2. I tried with both Safari and Chrome (Safari works best on this beast- it’s what I usually am on when I’m on Subeta). I tried multiple refreshes- nothing worked.
Here’s a twist for you though. I went to another page on kumos.subeta and it loaded. Then I used the back button and the test vending page actually loaded- I was able to vend with no problems. Tried the link again- it wouldn’t load, clicked on a new page, it loaded and back button opened the page for me (of course my vends were all used up). I tried this multiple times and each time the page opened when I used the back button.
Don’t know if this helps at all but wanted to let you know just in case! 🤞🏻

Name tag by Huh, that worked! Crazy. Thank you! :)
Other kumos pages usually fix themselves with a refresh, but vending still doesn’t without using the method above.
thank you. That worked for me too!

I am on MacOS Sonoma. The vending machine page does not load on Safari. All I can see is the background gradient. I can see the rest of kumos, but the press back & refresh approach does not work. It loads fine on Firefox though and works great. Thank you for the wizard tokens & the opportunity to test things out as they are created
Okay I'm a bit confused it gave me another 100 wizard tokens and and let me vend 5 more items. We are trying to vend about 50 items right? That's the point of the 100 wizard tokens it gave us right?
Am I doing this wrong?
Taking a look at the Safari loading issues! I use Chrome (well, Vivaldi) and have a browser test suite that should test things in Safari and report major issues - but I'll make that my priority today. Not working on iPad is a massive failure imo!
I've got a few seconds, so I wanted to reply to a particular part of this post (not calling you out !). I'm not going to respond to the first paragraph about hiring more staff (if we don't have the funds, how do we do that?) but will respond to "Vending and its subsequent limits seems so trivial in light of other things right now".
This is the HasItemChooser trait that was built through this exploration and vending machine work:

This trait will be used for every feature on the site where you can get an item from a pool, or allow us to select an item based on a new chance trait. this is "many, many layers of functionality needing tending."
Vending machines are a good way to build out these systems because of what they require:
These building blocks make it possible to rewrite most features on the site in this framework in a day or two, as I've seen from rewriting the Coda Caves ;)

This new trait will be able to be used by things like monthly collections, custom items, basically anything that puts an item into your inventory, instead of me writing a new query every time.
