I was called into the back at 1:45am. I was tortured, yet again. I passed out on the lab guys (they needed three blood draws), then the doctor pressed down on where my gallbladder used to be and I smacked his hand away and started hard core crying. I was hit and tingly from the pain. He sent me for a CT scan and I had contrast dye.

It also took the nurse forever to inject me with mor*** because I was bawling ny eyes out, from a panic attack (I do not do well with needles). My arm burned for a good 15min.

I'm just waiting for my results. She decided to give me IV fluids because of how long I've gone without food and water. So, I'm hooked up. I also kind of seeing double from the pain medication injection.

[Edit] Nothing qas found on my CT scan, so the doctor asked the surgeon resident to come and talk to me. I said if there's nothing wrong, why am I in pain?

I'm being admitted because I have infection from surgery. Now they need to figure out why I have it and what's causing it. The surgeon couldn't believe how hot my skin is

She changed her mind. Said I had covid and I was like... ok lol. Now my mom and I have to wait 5 more hours to see a medicine specialist and now it's up to them if they'll admit me

I'm being admitted for 2 days because I have a infection from surgery. I require 1 week of IV antibiotics. This blood infection can turn septic and they don't want that.

The doctor said she can't believe the surgeon said it wasn't related to surgery because it is and she laughed at Covid. Once discharged, she'll get home care to come give me antibiotic IV

I just had a anti-blood cot injection. It hurts so bad. I don't do well with needles. I was just given more mo***ine and anti-nausea, an oral antibiotic and my IV antibiotics is running through now

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all this. I understand the aversion to needles (I too get panic attacks from them), every time I need a new surgery the nurse usually let's my husband sit with me (although he's not supposed to be allowed) because I'm crying my eyes out well before the needles even start. It helps me a little to think of how many times I won't need needles after the fact/ how many times I've taken not having needles in me for granted lol You'll get through this and feel so much better once it's all over!

It's hard to wrap my head around the fact, that if I didn't come to emerge when I did, I could've died from sepsis. That's hard to process.

- So true. We hear stories of symptoms ignored and the worst happens...thankfully you didn't ignore what your body was telling you. It was almost not enough that you were paying attention as the ER was not quite paying attention at first...so glad you are getting the care and meds you need.

Me too! I'm so thankful for the Doctor that I saw this morning who just couldn't believe what the resident surgeon told me. She said it IS from the surgery. Something went in and something came out. I tried telling the surgeon "I'm diabetic. I need antibiotics because I always get infections" and she said "You don't need them". All of this, could have been prevented if she listened to me.

I mean, if I died, how would you guys know? I have no one else to come onto Subeta to tell you.

I also wasn't going down without a fight this morning, but everything worked out. I'm on TWO types of antibiotics. Oral and IV

Thank you for the well wishes! I just had pain meds (I take mor*** by oral because I so not want anymore pokes for today. My arm still hurts from the injection this am). Today was a lot for me! I was poked 3 times at the lab, passed out (as in I could barely nod and I coukdnt open my eyes. I could only flutter them), I had an IV inserted in a very bad location because my veins are crappy and it hurts a lot.

put your foot down and don’t take no for an answer. You know yourself, and basically that person was comparing you to other patients. Keep demanding until you get what works for you. Be LOUD and pro-active!!!!
