and - I have a pair of fuzzy soot sprites that have a suction cup attached to them so you can stick them to smooth surfaces. I love Howl's Moving Castle, too. I have a plushie Calcipher. (Yes, I love plushies XD ) I don't think I've seen calcipher yet but if it's a new one then, I def haven't. I'll need to hunt it down. :D

- You and me both. He's very determined to get it right this time. He's even watched videos showing how to ride a bike. Poor guy, struggling with something most kids know how to do by the age of 66. I'm rooting for him. :D

oh sounds like a good bike, have the same but other brand and a purple one. I ride to all over town (to town, to mom & dad, to work, etc). The bike lanes, bike rules are very good here as your son has read. Hmm shame his balance is not very good, maybe he just need a wee bit more help.

and others Remember i told you about an intern that was not doing good. Well.. i pulled the plug yesterday after 4 talks and no improvement i had to pull it. School was surprised but understood after i told why and the intern did not see it coming.. Long story short.. yesterday was her last day and today she will come and turn in her stuff and if she wants she can say goodbye to the residents.

Hope all is well with everyone. My mom has a lot of dr appts this month. Mostly for her eyes. It's already been a busy month with them.

Was anyone else here in line of totality for the eclipse? My brother gave me glasses for it for Christmas. I sent him home with one pair and a spare and then kept the rest for us here and the three of us hung out in the backyard to watch. Amazing is an understatement. Especially that minute or so we had when we could take off our glasses. It was awe inspiring. It also oddly created a fair amount of anxiety for me afterwards. Didn't understand it. Took a couple hours to subside. It was extra special that we could just see it all from the house.

Some people just are not either cut out for some jobs or maybe just not ready for them and need more experience elsewhere. And your job with people, especially elderly, is super important.

i think she is just not ready and has to work on herself. She had to turn in her stuff today and we agreed between 10am-11am.. Shr turned up around noon, put her stuff on the table and went away. Said nothing... says more about her then us...

don't think watching video's will help lol He just has to go and do it.. He can do it!

- He said the bike was made by Retrospect. I think he said that he found the bike through links on a video about cycling in the Netherlands. I may be confusing things, though. His bike is sky blue and brown. He's very proud of it. I'm proud of him for making such an important choice at so young an age. Teens his age are usually chomping at the bit to learn to drive and he's just completely refused it. :D

About your intern: I don't think she's mature enough yet to take on a job like yours. Perhaps it's better if she works at lower levels of care-giving before trying her hand at your level agaihn. It's sad that she's ended up like this but it's better for the patients in the long run. You did what was right and necessary so don't beat yourself up over it. :D

- read what I wrote above to your sister. I think you're right, though. No amount of watching videos is going to teach him how to ride. He just needs to get out there and do it. Today we have good weather so I'm hoping he'll go out this afternoon. I've told him you're all rooting for him. :D

- We had only 87% occlusion so no one went out to watch. My son said he would have gone if it would have been a full eclipse but he didn't care about this partial one. Oh, to be 19 again. I'm glad you had a great time watching it. I heard it was marvelous. Sorry about the anxiety. I have issues like that sometimes. My anxiety flares up for no apparent reason. I just try to calm myself as best I can and distract myself until it's over. :D

Yes! We saw it. It was the first time since 1878 that it was a total 100% eclipse in Texas. I liked that moment you mentioned too. Seeing the circle of light around the black was cool. I was thinking how enormous the sun is in relation to us and the incredible distance between. It is mindboggling. 93 million miles... we learn it in school, we hear it on TV, we say it nonchalantly. But my mind really can't comprehend that.

Best of luck to your son learning to ride a bike. Obviously he is determined and with that will succeed, even if it takes him awhile. I don't remember either of my kids learning to ride bikes, but my daughter learned to drive early, and then rode motorcycles. My son did not want to learn to drive. He put it off for several years and then after an accident we were in a couple more. But he gradually got comfortable with it.

- Thanks for your words of encouragement. He's a bit wary right now. I think it's more about him falling down then anything else. It's nice to know my youngest isn't alone in not wanting to learn to drive. I honestly couldn't believe it when he told me he had no interest in learning. It took a couple of conversations before I accepted his decisions. Oh, motherhood is so hard sometimes. :/

- That's not surprising. I don't think it's a very big company. Well, he still hasn't gone out. I think he's a little bit daunted by it right now. Weather is rainy again, today. so that may be part of it. :D
