Happy dance. Rain! First measurable rain since the start of June. The air quality got better mid last week now rain. Sigh.

I feel your dryness.

glad it was benign. I can’t wake myself from nightmares, but the scary part doesn’t last too long and then it is more interesting. The getting chased ones are annoying, though.

I hope your appointments go well and your blood pressure gets under complete control.

Too many people getting frozen on here. Now I am getting a touch paranoid.

So glad, and envious, you got rain and have better air! Was really hoping the hurricane would head this way and drop some rain, but it will run right into the high pressure over us and disappear. Read earlier that our state is tapping into the water reserves. We are under a burn ban but not water restrictions yet. We don't water the lawn usually anyway so it's just dormant. The trees are sloughing off leaves, I guess so as to hold on to nutrients to survive. Hopefully they do.

My Uncle in Law went into hospice Monday and died early Wednesday. Still reeling from it.

We were able to visit him Monday and Tuesday but not today.

My depression was already bad and my period is going to start soon so I was basically out of it today.

Hugs So sorry about your uncle in law. <3

Nothing like a clean house! I wish I had one. lol Your family doesn't celebrate birthdays? That is so sad somehow, but to each their own. However, going to Paris might make up for that! :) Mine always has. My mother made sure of it. (I miss her so much... and it will be so much worse on birthdays and holidays. It will never be the same. But hopefully we can carry on in her spirit.) We always get whatever kind of food and present (within limits of course! lol) we want. Mine is the 23rd. I got a new shirt that I'm wearing that day and am looking forward to going to the range again and trying out handguns. I want to be really good at it and eventually get my own and licensed. I love the Walther PDP so far, but my son insists that I try a bunch and then decide. Just smart since I've only fired two recently. And I've chosen homemade enchiladas for the food. My son loves to cook and I assist. <3

Update: I saw my general practicioner this afternoon. She updated all my meds and went over what happened while I was in the hospital in case I had any questions. Apparently I was at 16% kidney function when I arrived at the emergency room. That went up to 60% when I was discharged. Phew I'm so glad it got that much better. Hopefully it's gotten even better since that tests were done. Tomorrow I see the kidney doctor and I have a ton of questions for him. Other then that I'm doing ok. Still waiting on Home Health to come and get my blood for the cardiologist. I may habve to stop at the lab on the way home from the kidney doctor to get it drawn as I'm sick of waiting for home health. They've had almost 2 weeks to make an appt to come get the blood. I think they just don't want to drive all the way out to my house. XD

- I think medical professionals make the worst patients. I'm getting better, though, even if I'm constantly tired now. The blood pressure is getting back to normal, too. Hubby thinks that my anxiety has been feeding into the blood pressure problem. Don't you love it when one thing feeds into another, and then yet another until every thing is knocking over like a game of dominos? 😂

- Thank you so much for being such a wonderful cheerleader for me. You really have helped take some of the anxiety away. I hope you get some of the hurricane rain so you can hav ve cooler temps.

- passes you a warm heating pad I hope you feel better. Boy am I glad I'm menopausal! I don['t envy you one bit. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle-in-law. It's never easy when someone you care about passes. :(

- I hope the hurricane makes it up to you so you can get some rain. We get a bunch of rain over here. I guess it's because the Appalachains seperate us and keep most of our rain over here to the east. :D

- I'm glad the air quality is getting better for you. I love my air purifier because it cleans everything out of the air. :D

- How's your weather doing today? Is it more Fall like? :D

Always. <3 Glad you got some info and for that much improvement! Ask everything you want to know of your nephrologist. Make a list since you have so many questions so you don't forget any. Pfft on Home Health. They should have done better. Even if they can't make it for a while they could at least make an appt. I would stop by the lab. It's too important to wait.

- I'm a bit miffed that home health hasn't even called and it's been almost 2 weeks. Hubby (and no, he's far from a saint. 😂 )and I talked about it and we're stopping at the lab tomorrow after the kidney doctor. I've got a really long list to ask him. All my training was in cardiac so I really do know little about kidneys. Wait, did I read that right? Your birthday is this month, too? Oh, boy! I get to spoil both you and Emory this month! ❤

Yep I will be 66. Ugh. That looks so old when I see it written! lol I'm sorry, I didn't remember you were in the medical field. How awesome is that? Were you a nurse, a doctor, or what? And yes, I agree. People that are in medicine are all the worst patients because they know too much. lol And I also think they see ghosts where they aren't there too, because they know to look and scare themselves. Even though I was unable to finish, I was Pre-Med and taking Psychology and Computer Science courses at the same time. I wanted to be a doctor so much but my stroke ended that. But it was and still is a life long fascination with all things medical for me. I love reading and watching anything to do with it. I think I got it from my mother, who was an R.N. My daughter is a N.P. and still going. She has all kinds of letters after her name. It was really funny when we would get to talking about something at the table and my father would finally say, "Stop it!" because he was trying to eat. :) That happened a lot...

OMG - I HATED my periods. I had already gotten pg and then miscarried after a tubal. My doctor said I would be the one in 400,000 of course. Tried hormone treatments that was supposed to stop my periods, but made it far worse. Getting out of the bed in the morning and stepping onto the floor I had a blood pool in just a few seconds. I wanted a hysterectomy. Anyway, I ended up having fibroid tumors just like my mother. So I needed the surgery. I was the most gleeful patient ever! lol It was the one surgery I had with the most wonderful incredible fantastic result. NO MORE PERIODS EVER!!!!!!! OMG it has to rank up there in the rarified air with the other absolute best experiences of my life.

When my mother had her hysterectomy, for the same reason and at the same age (35) she was so excited about no more periods that she wrapped up her tampon box with a big bow and presented it to me with such a flourish Liberache would have been proud! lmao

I thought it was so funny that I did the same thing after my surgery, but my daughter wasn't quite old enough at the time to start having periods. So I wrapped up my tampons just like my mother had and presented it to my best friend Rox. Then I laughed my ass off as I ducked when she threw it at me. She was completely jealous for years until she finally went thru menopause.

My doctor left my ovaries because they were fine, and it would mean I didn't have to take hormones until menopause, like my mother did. I still knew when I was ovulating every month - felt bloated and had cramps, and was bitchy. (Yeah, I know - how could anyone tell the difference? lol) And then I would celebrate because NO MORE PERIODS EVER!!!!!!! Joyful joyful joyful, indeed!

Everyone here is busy and can't come... or say they come anothe day and they neder do. last year i only had 4 visitors... mom, dad, sister and a friend...such a bummer. Family noadays will come if you have a big feast somewhere with snacks, drinks.... No thank you, not paying loads of money on a venue, drinks and snack for you all to come.

Will put my money to something nice.. Paris! Today over 2 weeks i am there, can't wait. Wrote down where i want to go/visit, hope i can see it all in 3 days time.

lol spoil away! Will pop in on the 28th not sure when, Paris will keep me busy!

wow 66, i will be 44.

-hugs back-

- You know, I cried when I realized I was in menopause. I already knew My youngest was my last but just to know that there couldn't be any "accidents" made me so sad. I love my kids and wish I could have had one last one but it just wasn't in the cards. I feel for you, though. If there won't be any kids, why suffer through the period every month? XD

- omg, lololol wrapping up the tampons. 😂 😂 I was an Emergency Room technician (the CNA of the ER,) a registar (register people for proceedures,) and a Medical Secretary in the cardiac unit. OMG, I loved it. I worked primarily night shift and had a lot of latitude with my duties. I frequently ended up working other places and in other roles then the one on my ID. One night I had to assist a nurse try to keep a patient alive after a massive heart attack while the code blue was called. On the other end I've helped deliver a number of babies. Thinking back about it always puts a smile on my face, eventhough, with all I know, I still scare the hell out of myself with the bits I don't know. My hubby is cross with me when I do it and tells me I'm my own worst enemy. I know this already and just keep on going much to his consternation. I thought about going to school for more then the ER technician but found I didn't want to deal with the hassel the doctor's and nurses dealt with and was very happy in my jack-of-all-trades position.

- Birthday parties are overrated. I personally hate them and do everything I can to avoid them when my birthday turns up. I'm right between you and Chrysariel, I'm 53. I do not feel that old and sometimes feel much older, though. 😂 I think you've made the right decision in going to Paris instead of having a party. Those that love you will search you out and wish you a Happy Birthday when the special day comes around. :) So, what do you want to see in Paris? :D

OMG that is great. I would love being the jack-of-all-trades and help with everything. How wonderful! Such different interesting things presenting every night in an ER. The variety would be nice. My daughter was in the ER for awhile, then ICU longer, then OR nurse. Not sure exactly what she does now as NP. She loves all the variety too.

You can tell yourself to stop worrying about things you know and things you don't know, but it isn't easy to do either. In fact its damn hard. The wise Yoda said, “Do or do not. There is no try.” I disagree in this case. All you can do is try. And you don't fail if those sneaky dark thoughts and creeping worries drift in, but maybe you can tell them to take a hike once in awhile. lol Remember as the lovely Doris Day sang long ago and far away, Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be), and until you know one way or the other, it is a good thing to relax if possible. Something simple, but it usually works - breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth a few times to calm down, and then distract yourself with something you like to do. Mind over matter, and your mind definitely matters. <3

Exactly, If you want kids then periods are a necessary pain. If you don't want kids they're a monthly torment with no possible purpose.

Happy Subetaversary everyone. Twenty years is such a long time. Keith was a kid when he created this site. It's also World of Warcraft's 20th anny this year. I've played that since the beginning. I didn't join subeta until 4 years in.

Paris sounds like a wonderful way to spend your birthday. I hope you have time to see and do everything you most want to do. I'm sure three days just isn't long enough for all Paris has to offer. Wish I could help with the buddy GA but I don't have a subscription.
