It does not look very pretty, but it's meant to show something personal. Merry Lumi!! 💙

Thank you all so much for entering Day 1 <3 <3 All of your trees are so beautiful!
Onsite, my favorite got to be working my way down the gift list as well as participating in giveaway threads for more lumi cheer! Irl i just like to look at the lights at night lol
Outside of giving presents and picking out a bunch of toys to go to the different angel trees and food items for the food banks annual meals, All the outdoor holiday decorations are my favorite part! The lights and other things people put up are really nice to drive by all through December. Our neighborhood has a few people who have kept decades old traditions alive -including a 12ft tall tree made of lights in the front yard, flamingo florida santa palooza (there are SO MANY LIGHTS), and the ever growing field of winter themed inflatables (I'm actually concerned they are going to run out of space if they keep adding any more inflables). It really nice to see all the hard work and pretty set ups people decide on!
My first thought was: I love the Christmas holidays. In the UK, I’m lucky enough to have 2 glorious weeks off for Christmas. But when I think about it, the reason I love this so much is because I get to spend time with friends and family, doing things that we enjoy and that bring us closer - eat delicious food, enjoy each others company and giving each other gifts. It’s a time when I get to focus unashamedly on my friends and family, and that’s really special.
Not the best day to get this question as I'm having a really moody day. But I think it's that it's the one time of the year our very small family is all together. It really is just nice to have a few days to hang out together.
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
My favorite part of this time of year is looking at Christmas decorations. They just make me happy.

I love all of the lights and coziness that comes the holiday. Eggnog, cookies, warm fires, etc.

i love seeing the lights and the trees :)
My favorite part of this time (on Subeta) is probably the gifting aspect. December is sadly just another normal month where I live, we don't have holidays (and even when our celebrations come, I don't have a family or any friends to celebrate with). Subeta is the only place I get to experience them. This is an awesome thing and I've always appreciated it a lot, but at the same time, I can't help but feel left out. This year in particular it seems to be worse. As always, I tell myself that this won't be parmenent, that maybe by next year I'll be surrounded by people who love me and won't have to feel this way anymore. Who knows, maybe I'll even be travelling and get to experience this wonderful time in real life.
Honestly, I'm not really a fan of this time of year. I love it on Subeta, but not so much in real life. What I do love though are my mom's special Christmas cookies. It's the only time of year that she makes them and each kind she makes is just so delicious. I can't wait for that package of cookies to arrive in a few weeks.
My favorite thing is giving gifts! I love doing some holiday shopping and looking for the perfect thing for friends and family. I've already started putting stuff together this year. Usually one big gift and then I look for some fun little snacks and things to put in stockings! Close tie for second favorite is the decorations. The season always just feels so happy and cheerful.
