While Stur has electrolyte enhanced mixes, the ingredients and nutrition information on the normal fruit punch flavor don't include any extra vitamins or minerals other than vitamin C. Though even the electrolyte stuff only has 10% of the RDA of a handful of vitamins, so I don't think it'd be too hard on the body to process (unless sodium is a worry, it does have some added sodium in it, it looks like). Definitely understand the worries on Gatorade, though; that stuff is basically soda without carbonation, it is not good to the body.

Well, you could always make something just for you instead of endeavoring to start a whole business! Like, make your own fruit punch juice mix, thin with a sufficient amount of water, maybe add a natural sugar alternative like stevia to make it sweeter after thinning without adding extra calories, twist of lemon or lime to add a bit more tartness. Rhubarb and lemongrass infusing might be good, too, since they have that citrus-y tartness and flavor. Still a lot of work for just one person, though, and it'd take some doing to figure out the right balance for everything... There are some good fruity herbal infusions available out there, too. Celestial Seasonings' "Zinger" varieties, in particular, come to mind. Mixing tea bags would be a lot less work, and might provide a similar result in the end.

I've never actually read any of the studies or anything on artificial dyes, though it hardly surprises me that it's linked with detrimental effects on health. Most of the people I've known with wheat sensitivities (celiac and non-celiac) are also affected by red dyes, so there's clearly some sort of link there. I can state for certain that I always know when I've had something with any sort of artificial dye in it, if it doesn't make me absurdly itchy, it always makes me feel awful. So it's definitely possible that cutting out the red dye could make a difference!

And actually on topic, I'm hoping to add some more exercise back into my routine. Adding in exercise of any sort, even just fifteen minutes of yoga, is SUPER helpful. Produces an anti-inflammatory response in the body, which can then apply even to areas outside of the body parts involved in the exercise, and I desperately need to get back in the habit, to be perfectly honest. Been spending too much time reading, not enough time "doing" outside my walks to the library every few weeks. =w=;

Would definitely be cool to make something homemade that would work but its indeed a lot of work that my mother certainly wouldn't do herself. Although maybe feeling better could encourage her. I might try to push her to indulge me and switch to true lemon or something of the sort similar in flavor JUST to see if she has any improvement with her pain, fatigue and insomnia. At the very least finding something she likes would be a step in the right direction. Maybe someday we can be rid of the koolaid red nastiness. I can hardly motivate her to even try basic exercises or yoga she's just always so tired or agitated.

I actually had down a bit of a bedtime yoga routine for a while, but the depression likes to strike and kill the rhythm. Skip a few days and the pattern just shuts down. Its either actual depression or PMDD I'm not entirely sure. Maybe both? I've been generally back and forth with the health stuff but at least my sleep routine kinda sticks a little. Generally trying to keep making better food choices but the monthlies and the sads are telling me to go to the bakery. At least I can treat my SO and my mom (if theres "low sugar" options lol) by going. Makes it a little more positive right? ha.

Just jumping in to share!

I think I have a lot of head knowledge at this point regarding the positive changes that I want to make, but it often feels difficult. I feel like I lack the motivation or discipline (sometimes both) to follow through with getting some routines set right.

Definitely easier said than done. I feel like keeping your mind forward and continuing to try is worth it though even if you fall through a lot. Things are improving very slowly and incrementally. I think it being spring/summer helps a little since the winter had me so very down with my long hours at work having me arrive AND leave work in darkness. Eventually wanting to get into swimming at a gym since its the only exercise I genuinely enjoy. Will be another big step up for me.

Getting into an exercise that you enjoy would definitely help a lot. I read that it's more than just a lifestyle change - that it has to be a part of your identity that also changes along with wanting to accommodate healthier habits in life. So that's the part that I've been wrestling with.

My largest issue that I grapple with is generally not liking most exercise in general. Has almost always been the case despite being a relatively active kid I just didn't like sports and most physical games. Just exploring, climbing on things and swimming. As I've gotten out of shape over the years it's been worse since even walks can be a drag, esp if it's the same bike path over and over. Swimming used to be my life though as a kid, all summer half the time I'd just jog in circles in the water or float and stare at the sky and just be all in my head and imagination. I miss it so much...

Hard to make certain types of exercise you can't enjoy no matter how much you do them part of your identity...

I agree with the exercise thing. I hate it so much and especially in the heat. The thing I've stared doing is I notice I am doom scrolling I make myself do Leg lifts (or leg movement in general). It helps take me out of the doom scroll and it gets me moving. I have back issues so a lot of my exercising is stationary. When I am in the office I do a 5 minute chair yoga video or something. Its usually when I feel myself starting to get unfocused.

Novel is a huge simp for Dick Gayson and Jason Todd. They deserve better!

I started working on getting rid of bad habits two years ago, but still have a long way to go. Recently, I finally got the habit to eat a vegetable or/and verdure on every meal but still need to reduce sugar addiction and stop hating exercise. Exercise is like, I have body pain because I don't do it but I can't do it because I have body pain lol

Itll probably help you to start slow with the exercise. I personally enjoy yoga as it lets me just slowly push through the limits of my muscles as theyre very tight. Plenty of sitting/laying down stretches to do too! That and I personally wanna swim more as it hurts so much less moving in water.

I’m currently taking a break from the walking in the botanical gardens after leaving the trainer. So getting some cardio after strength training. I’ve had a pass for here all year and haven’t been coming since beginning of the year. It’s really a nice place to pace myself since there’s benches sporadically along the trail. Besides the various plants to marvel at there’s the chill nature sounds and crunch of people walking. I think I could fall asleep under this tree.

Aww! It's funny when they get spooked and fly into the water at mach speed lol. Ducks are my personal favorite thing to see when at a lake or pond.

For my own self-care, I’ve been focusing on creating a more balanced routine with regular exercise and meditation. It’s been a bit of a challenge to stay consistent, but I’m starting to see the benefits, especially in my mood and energy levels. I’m also working on being kinder to myself and not being too hard when things don’t go as planned. It’s a work in progress, but I’m feeling positive about it!

I have started daily workouts. I enjoy weightlifting, so one day I'll focus on legs, the next will be arms, shoulders and chest, then the next will be a rest day. On my rest days I still try to take walks. It's hard for me to go to the gym. I follow Caroline Girvan on YouTube and follow her workouts.
