- Poor Jora. soft birdie hugs to Jora I imagine it'lll take you both a while for the pain to ease, but it will. I remember when I losg my greyhound, Serena. I still haven't gotten completely over it and it's been 20 years now. :(

- Yeah, the hurricanes here can be catastrophic. I'm sorry you have to deal with them, even if they are milder then what we get. It's never fun. Don't work too hard, remember to take some time for yourself. See you on the flip side! :D

I can't really talk about Selene (first ever bird, parakeet) without tearing up.

We adopted Navi and had her for around 4 years. Jorah turned 4 years old this year. We got both within a week of each other. So she's been with him for nearly his entire life.

well the storm passed, still very windy here and rainy. Really fall weather. I will try and thik of my self but these next 7/8 days with only today and friday off will be brutal...

that's normal... takes time.. And nice they where so long togheter.

- 50 hours? That was a typical week for me when I worked. hubby didn't like it because I was never around. It'll be Sunday 930pm before you know it. :D

not here, typical is 32-40. I have a contract for 28.. so i am working way to much this week. And not only day shifts also evening shifts.

- That just highlights the differences between your work expectations/reality and ours. It's Tuesday so only a few more days. :D

you are right about that. 2 more shifts and then 1 day off woohoo! And then back to work the whole weekend.

it does! I have short hair so every 8-10 weeks i need to go... Sheesh!

- I want short hair but hubby and the kids won't let me cut mine. It's just at my waist now. One day I'll find the scissors (yes, they hide them) and cut it off. 😂

I love long hair. I think its beautiful and I like how it feels against my back. But mine was too fine to do anything fun with and never held volume or curl that I worked hard to put into it. I was always wearing it in a ponytail anyway. So I decided to cut it all off years ago. Now that its short its also fluffy so I like it. Soooo much cooler too.

I always wanted long hair. But mine was too fine. It did hold a perm for added volume so I could have it a bit longer than my shoulders. Until hormone changes and gray hair came along and it wouldn't hold a curl anymore. 😢 Not even with me coloring it. It's been in a bob cut ever since. I'm going to stop coloring my hair now and just let the gray happen and see what I think. Not really looking forward to it, I know it will make me look my age. But professional color is just too expensive.

- I would love to cut my hair but I get such a negative response when I bring up the subject that I'm loathe to do it. My hubby even said that if I cut off my hair he'll take it to a wig maker and make me wear the wig made from it. 😂 I think he was only half-serious. I'll be honest, I love the way it feels against my back, too, but also always wear it in a pony tail. It's much easier to manage that way. Perhaps, one day... ;)

The awesome thing about someday cutting it would be that it might be long enough to donate to an organization like Locks of Love who make wigs for children who suffer hair loss due to cancer or alopecia etc. A really good cause.

I love my grey hair. I wish it was bright silver to white. I use shampoo and conditioner that is supposed to brighten grey or blonde hair, and I see some difference, esp in brighter lighting. But I agree that professional coloring is too expensive. If it wasn't, I would love to add purple and white highlights. I think that would be gorgeous on me. A friend did it many years ago and it was beautiful. I don't dare do it myself. I know it wouldn't turn out like I want it.

I had below the shoulders hair for a long time. But I only grew my hair out past my waist because my second husband wanted me to. But it was slow growing and took soooo long and then just rarely really looked good. The rest of the time it was meh. lmao about your husband making a wig of your hair! But yours must be so beautiful if he feels so strongly about it. :)

- my oldest daughter routinely donates her hair to a non-profit like that. Her hair is gorgeous. It's ginger and hangs in long waves. It's gorgeous when it's long.

- Have you thought of calling a local beauty school and asking if they have discount rates for letting them practice on your hair? Also, your beautician may know of someone who can do it "off-the books" and you can get it cheaper that way. :) And my hair is nothing special. It's dark brown, almost black and is very fine and hangs in waves so long that it looks straight most of the time. Trust me, I understand what you mean about your hair just hanging there because it's so fine. That's mine, too. :D
