Well I know enough about crewel, if your doing your own designs that you are really good at it. My grandma used to do patchwork quilts, and she did one in silk. Each piece she did a different embroidery stitch she had made up. We were afraid to use it, we ended up donate it and 2 other handmade quilts to a museum in the town my Mom was raised in. The museum had written an article in the state newspaper asking for donations of hand made quilts for a display they were going to do. I didnt have a store bought blanket until I was in high school. You should post pics here of some of your projects.

Hi Everybody! I've just been busy IRL. Getting for Spring to start up here in the mountains. Still lots of snow, (50 feet in the mountains up above us.) Lots of runoff expected, Lake Nixon is releasing water into Misty Creek to make room for the snow melt in the next couple of months. The Kings, San Joaquin rivers are high and running rapid. It's been real exciting round here. All our residents are safe.

Down in the Big Valley, the largest inland lake in California is coming back from being dry since the 1980's. Yes that's right, Tulare Lake is one of the biggest natural lakes in the country, but it has been dry for decades because water has been diverted for flood control and water storage for irrigation. But because of all the rain, the State is letting the area flood again. It's really inconvenient for farmers who have been farming that lakebed for decades, but Maker knows all that water in that lake has got to have some impact on recharging the water table. Anyway, I thought it was interesting.

Oh that is very interesting, California had suffered droughts and fires for years/decades. Glad to see your getting water, but I know the earth is packed hard from all those years of drought. Which makes the water have a hard time soaking in, glad there are places like empty river and lake beds to fill up. But feel bad for the farmers, I know the soil in the dry river and lake beds are full of nutrients from when they did flow with water. Glad to hear the residents near you are safe.
