Weekend quests as well as Potion Lottery and Recycle Beast* should be working properly again! Trying to fix the problem with the existing code was not working, so Keith had to write something new and compatible from scratch. To celebrate we're starting it early so for today through Thursday Wizard Quests will count as weekend bonus. We've reset quests as well. Then on Friday morning the new code should set a new weekend quest for Saturday and Sunday and will be able to select someone properly and according to schedule going forward.

We'll be keeping an eye on the switchover to make sure everything's working. One of the advantages of new code is that it should hopefully be easier to fix if something goes wrong again, whereas unfortunately trying to patch the old cron management for those features was just not proving effective despite multiple tries. *EDIT 1/19: Recycle Beast, Potion Lottery and shop clearing will require a bit more finagling. They are running still, just on the old cron! They'll just require new code and set-up of their own, but we'll do another front page announcement when we have it nailed down.

Ideally the Recycle Beast is supposed to reset at midnight, and should do so going forward. If it doesn't Keith will take another crack at it.

That along with Recycle Beast may actually need some more tweaking, it looks like it ran but it did the 7pm time. So in general it is working! Just maybe had a hiccup for the day? EDIT: if not and it is stuck on the old time, we can poke at that! We were primarily focusing on weekend quests to give poor Pete a break. ^_^;;

That is a very good point, and something we can look into since that feature might still need a bit of nailing down.
