I know I'm painfully quiet right now. I'm hanging in there, and am beyond crispy fried terrible, but hanging in there like I said. I think i even missed Survival :/ but that's ok. I hope you're all okay. I am checking in daily to at least autoprice my tiny store, just not able to read or reply daily.
Thank you for caring.
(I'm making a lot of assumptions, but yeah.)
sMail is always open.
lmao! My little brother wasn't a chipmunk like yours, but he was funny. One year he threw up all over the Thanksgiving turkey. That was the best Thanksgiving ever. lol :D
- it will. Thanks! I just stumbled on a fantasy genre called "Grim Dark."In fact, I just stumbled on a bunch of new (to me) fantasy genres. Another is "hopepunk." Do you like/read anything from either? Sometimes I feel like such a mushroom. XD :D
- :) It's a glucometer conspiracy!
- hugs you I wish you felt and were doing better. Just take care of yourself. :D <3
Wow! Great HA!! 👏
I think mine was 20 gallons so I can imagine how big 45 gallons is. How many fish are in it?
That sucks! I've had 5 covid shots and same for hubs and Liz and none of us has ever gotten it.
Hugs and much love!! <3 (Survival starts tomorrow)
OMG! 😂 That totally cracks me up, but so glad it hasn't happened to me - yet. :-P Having a daughter that barfs often I can say she's barfed in grocery stores, movie theaters and on a table in a fancy restaurant. :-D
thanks! Finally got the new legs !!!
those are more of trends than genres, but yeah I have read some books that fall under both of those categories. Favorite of the grimdark trend I'd say Abercrombie's First Law trilogy; favorite that could be considered hopepunk might be Addison's Goblin Emperor.
so - I'm really excited for the event to start today!!
Thanks. Trying to, but grief is a bear.
Hugs and love! Wow, Survival is late this year, heck
Now you have me curious what veggies xD
Today looks like surprised it wasn't last week
I think they will xD whenever they do reviews
That's good. Gonna be here for survival? Do anything fun over the weekend?
It was great :) we did to much and I'm exhausted xD how was your weekend?
Cute ha..I guess xD
5 :O thats a lot, hubby got two and the second one was hell for him. about as bad as his covid experience this past week.
as much as i can.. i need many hearts

- it was awesome because it meant we didn't have to eat the witch's dried out turkey. omg, I can't imagine dealing with a child who had that disorder. I mean, kids barf enough without having disorder on top of everything. :( The only nefarious thing that's happened to one of mine in a store was when the hubby accidentally stabbed our youngest in the eye with the pointy end of a sausage packet. I had to take him to the doc because he couldn't open his eye afterwards. Turned out it was just a scratch on the cornea. You'd think the kid would be upset about it but he wasn't. Said it was ok since he got to look like a pirate with the eye patch. lmao Kids! :D <3
- Trend? Then it's not been around long? I've read Abercrombie's First Law and all that came after the trilogy. I loved it. I haven't read the hopepunk one you said. I'm going to look it up and read it so I understand the differences. :D
- hugs Grief is difficult to deal with. My dad died 7 years ago and I'm still dealing with the greif. <3
- leafy greens like spinich and kale. It didn't say much about anything else so I'm thinking that it may be a trend that people are hyping instead of being serious. I did look up corn and peas and corn is considered an borderline veg since it does have a higher amount of sugar in it, just like carrots. Peas seem to be ok. The ones I was wondering about were lima, kidney, and black beans. Web sites are all over the place on those. lol XD a
the trend of grimdark is basically - it's less likely that things will work out in the end of the story, and also everyone's a bit less heroic and optimistic, they tend to be (like in the First Law trilogy) cynical, corrupt, self-serving, deluded, or compromised - often more than one of those. It's often, instead of the standard Big Powerful Evil vs Heroes, it's more like Big Powerful Evil vs Lesser Ordinary Evil-to-neutrals.
So hopepunk was a term used for works that resisted this trend to go the opposite way - to attempt to portray things as less dark, less starkly good vs evil in the same way as grimdark but on the lighter side, so it's often Misguided Well-Intentioned vs Heroes or Ordinary Decent People vs. Ordinary Self-serving Not-so-decent People.
Mostly both are trying to pull fantasy away from being its stark good guys vs bad guys format that it started off in with Gandalf vs Sauron, you know?
- Hrm, I may stay away from the hopepunk then. I can see why I like the Grim Dark. It's more real-to-life where things don't always work out. I noticed the LoTR influence on a lot of fantasy such as Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. It seemed that once RJ released WoT, everyone wanted to follow in his footsteps. For a bit I couldn't get away from the LoTR/WoT influenced books. That's probably why I liked Abercrombie's First Law series. Login Nine Fingers is amusingly relatable despite his dark side. :D
nah, none of them are true to life, they're fiction after all and fantasy fiction at that with magic and stuff. It's more of a mood thing than a plot thing; hopepunk has "sad" endings or bittersweet ones just as often as anything else, it's more of not having as much of the over-the-top evil characters similar to how the grimdark lacks the typical fantasy quotient of over-the-top heroic ones.
- I see what you're saying. I'm going to get that book you recommended to experience hopepunk myself. I'll better understand it and the differences then. :D
Thanks. Love to you <3
It's my fiance's birthday this week so we are celebrating all week so I'll be out and about with him and then I'll be also on here collecting candy hearts lol
Thank you, it's good to see you. I'm going to be spending time away for my fiance's bday but I'll be on off and on grabbing candy hearts during the event
Yeah we have a plan to do that, it's just hard because she has to care for dad and that means driving for an hour to Seattle for his health care and being away from a computer, she doesn't own a smart phone so we can't facetime chat on the go but it'll be okay we have a plan for it
I'm doing better than I was, just getting ready to throw a party tomorrow for Alexs bday and then spending the weekend hanging out with him to celebrate, how are you?
Please take care of yourself and if you need anything I'm here hugs
It's okay, it's hard but we are trying to be positive. I've been doing better than I have been lately so I'm okay and ready to celebrate Alexs bday :) How are you?
Hope he has a good bday!
Spinach is a great diabetic veg. It's low in carbs and delicious. Beans on the other hand do have lots of carbs
Good luck on the hearts!
- hugs love to you. <3
- That's great. hugs :D
- omg, I'm going to turn into Popeye! I wonder what I'll look like with burly forearms and an anchor tattoo? lmao xd
