I have never attempted to make my own. When we first moved away from the east coast we actually had my Uncle buy us some from a Polish bakery there and mail them to us. We can get them here in Ohio now but they just aren't quite as good. Still my favorite special treat I look forward to for Christmas and then again at Easter.
