Funny enough my favourite Christmas song is the same as yours , but for another line:

It shows how a relationship can change from being all rosy and promising into a trap for the people being involved. Also this song is not a typical Christmas song but is more real and talks the truth.

For a more traditional/less commercial/less American song I can't decide between those two: "Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht" (which most of you will know in the English version "Silent Night, Holy Night"). This song was first performed in a small town about 30 minutes from where I live, so there's even a personal connection of some kind. I also love "Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen", a very Christian song when it comes to the lyrics, but it's just beautiful. I don't think there's an English version of that song.

I always have problems picking favourites, but Carol of the Bells is probably my favourite Christmas song in English.

I also like several Christmas songs in my native language, but I don't think that there are English versions for them and I definitely can't pick a favourite there.
