Desperately seeking [Item=Interrupting Spooky Cat Companion]
This is easy. I don't do anything. I don't even make a resolution. Sorry!
I did find this cute tradition, though:
In the Philipines, the start of the new year is all about the money. The locals believe that surrounding themselves with round things (to represent coins) will bring money or fortune. As a result, clothes with polka dots are worn and round food is eaten. To really push Fortuna, coins are kept in pockets and constantly jangled, believed to keep the money flowing.
If I was there, I'd be stuffing my face with these delicious looking ube cookies!

Personally I don't do anything special on New Years Eve. I might watch some pre-midnight performances on tv but I like my sleep too much to stay awake! XD There are some traditions from other countries that I like though: In Brazil, jumping 7 waves, you get 1 wish for each wave! Greece, eating cakes, if you get the one with the coin you will have good luck for the next year

thank you!
day 30:
before covid, my friends and I would have a party then do countdown at midnight :)

"In Brazil, as well as other Central and South America countries like Ecuador, Bolivia, and Venezuela, it is thought to be lucky to wear special underwear on New Year’s Eve. The most popular colors are red, thought to bring love in the New Year, and yellow, thought to bring money."
go crazy!

The last years (before covid) we lived walking distance from the fireworks, so my partner would make us hot chocolate we'd walk over to watch c: We live further now, still undecided if we'll walk over or just watch on a screen 🤔
My family celebrate Chinese New Year a little later in the year more with red packets and meal with lucky foods, such dumplings for wealth, noodles for long life, prawns for laughter/happiness etc
What customs do you perform at New Year's Eve?
LOL I'm a party animal!! I sit on my couch and watch the ball descend in New York on TV...if I'm not too busy on the computer playing games.

Many years ago when I was much younger, I used to attend house parties:

I also used to do New Year's resolutions, that I never kept for more than a few weeks, until I stopped doing it completely.

What customs from other countries do you like? Singapore wishing spheres sound like a fun celebration - I just hope they are biodegradable or retrievable. People write wishes on large balls and then on new years even they are sent to float down the river.

We have been doing a New Year's Eve/Day auction for the past 5 years. It's a huge event with very rare, scarce, hard to find, one of a kind, sample items and much more. Our clients save up for this auction. So we spend our New Year with our clients. So we are getting prepped for that.

We are legal auctioneers and we sell those items.

I always wanted to go to New York to see the ball drop at Time Square.

i don't do anything special for nye, just another night x)

tho used to watch the ball drop on tv!
