by Roses I read about cleaning the house top to bottom before heading out, with special focus on the fireplace to remove any burdens in the new year! I liked this one because it's similar to Chinese New Year, we need to clean and sweep away any potential bad luck before new year but then cannot clean on new years day in case we sweep away any good fortune!
