I didn't notice any problems until today. Everything's been very sluggish today.

504'd in the process of coming here. Everything's been incredibly sluggish today and we only had a hiccup of an additional 300 and something players come on for the first day of Keel Hauliday.
That's a decent bandaid idea. I personally can't stand junk in my inventory. Must. Organize. Everything. Thanks for keeping us updated!

No you're not. I have a permanent zapper pet so I usually only keep a handful of locked items in mine.

That seems like the best solution. Maybe in the future create a thread for returning users of over 6+ months to inform them of this change so they aren't panicking on where their items might be! A good sticky on maybe the Help sub forum?

I thought once you zapped your pet the zapper was done stealing from you! Guess I've been schooled today, thank goodness!

Sounds like a good idea! 6 months is a long time and it’s not like people will lose anything. Ouch at the site needing to tally all those items so often. D:
Hopefully locked items can be dealt with differently though (either leave them locked or move them to a specific vault section ‘locked items’?). I can imagine people screeching if they thought they’d lost those. >_>

Thank you everyone for being so supportive of this! I've been trying to figure out ways to handle things like this, where we've got (literally) 18 years of items sitting in inventories.
When trying to figure out how to make the site faster (or, you know, not just completely break down) I try to avoid things like this because it could be disruptive and requires writing single-use code (unless we run this a few times, which I'm considering!) which I try also try to avoid when the amount of engineering resources (me) we've got is so low.

Would this somehow be related to the influx of 'No input file specified. ' when I try to access topics and forums (mainly advertising, a different issue than the blank page that would appear every so often) and 'Oops, no post was found here' that is trying to link to the news and not the actual forum posts that I know exist?
Hmm, maybe? If you can put that in the P&B forum for separate follow-up, though, just in case it's something else, I'd appreciate. Screenshots would also be welcome!

besides today with all the 504 errors, the weird "news.php" being tacked onto different pages, sb not loading, or sending messages sometimes, the site was handling kheel holiday and the free shop fine... lol
