it was good to see friends I haven't seen in a few years
Yes, it’s always good to see friends. What kinds of things did y’all do?
Edit: got a forum ticket, whoo-whoo :)

Went to a wedding, and then spent a week with my friend from college. Didn't do a whole lot, the plane ticket was too expensive. lol but hanging out was the goal and that was achieved to the best of our ability :D
Weddings are always fun! Hanging out with friends is also fun! Sometimes, hanging out is more fun than running around doing things! Game night is a fun thing to do :)
As for me, I’m recovering from another procedure that I had done on my back on Thursday. I really don’t get much relief from the procedures :( I fell that the only thing they do is move the pain around. It may end up that I will have to have surgery. We’ll see..

I'm sorry to hear that it didn't help. I've heard this from several people. They try to fix it but it just doesn't relieve the pain. I hope things will get better for you.
Thank you sweetheart! Chronic back pain has been ongoing for many, many years. It really makes life unbearable at times!! I guess relief just isn’t in the cards for me :/

Thank you hun <3
At this point, I will take any relief!! My Dr. has prescribed pain medication and, muscle relaxers. I take a muscle relaxer to help me sleep at night. I’m very weary of pain meds though. I don’t like how they make me feel! I’d rather be in pain than out of it!
Edit: got a forum point
Also: Random Event You hear scurrying at your feet and see a lizard minion run by, seems like he has something else on his mind besides your items. Second time today for this. My trap must be rusty! Lol

Were you happy with the photographs you took for the wedding? Hope you enjoyed your trip
yes. I got a lot of pretty great moments. But I got frustrated at myself. It's been so long since I shot a wedding that I knew my reaction times were slower than they used to be :P
That is on pretty pirate, btw! good job. :O
How's everyone doing? I'm much better now than I have been. So glad it's fall again. <3
waves I'm back after a year and saw that we have this board now, too, so I thought I'd say hi!
Anyone reading anything good?
It’s good to have you back. I’m not currently reading anything. I actually haven’t read anything in some time. I’m still busy with all of the feral cats. There are just so many :( How are your fur babies doing? Hope all is well!

Thanks!
I've been rereading a bunch of mystery-adventures from the 1970s by Elizabeth Peters (not the Amelia Peabody series; the standalones and two other series). They're light and improbable, but totally entertaining.
So sad about all the feral cats. :(
My St. John kitty is doing great, though a bit overweight. He just turned ten, so it's not unexpected for him to be a bit pudgy at this age. As for our Lizzie girl. . . We had to say goodbye to her in May. She was 18, and the feline dementia had gotten so bad that it was difficult to keep her safe. After two bad falls within days of each other, in addition to her getting lost in the few rooms we had open to her, and all kinds of other heartbreaking symptoms, we knew it was time. We worried that St. John would not handle it well -- his entire life was spent with her -- but he's done good overall. He still have periods where he acts lonely for a few days, but otherwise, he's adjusted to being the only cat.
Being entertained is what matters. Enjoy your books! I am so, so sorry about Lizzie. She did live a very long life, full of all the love and care that you so gladly gave her. She was a very lucky girl <3 Poor St. John <3 I’m sure he’s lonely without his lifetime friend. All you can do is give him extra love and attention. Or, maybe a playmate??

We tossed around the idea of another cat, but he is huge (very long, very muscular, and nearly 20 pounds) and doesn't know his own strength. I really think while he was adjusting to another, he might hurt it. He is super aggressive through the window to the strays (and will accidently tear me up if I'm too near when he's growling at them), so we've decided he's probably best off alone. Lizzie treated him like the baby he was, and he always thought he was smaller than her, and gave in to her all the time -- despite being more than twice her size. It was so funny! Neither of them had any clue as to how big and powerful he is! She totally dominated him. LOL Anyway, I said all that to say that we've thought about it and decided not, at least not now.
I had her portrait painted this time last year by https://erikachapman.com/

Did I show you gals her portrait last yer?
