Informal poll: have you ever fished up the hidden treasure?
If you have found it, what did you get?

I don't even hope anymore.
I've only heard of 2 people getting it in recent memory (and 4-5 mentioned by Kieth in a thread eons ago).

I go fishing at least once every day, it's in my list of dailies that I've been doing for years. I kind of think the treasure is a myth and the "clues" are nonsense. Especially when they're like "You're getting close! You're getting close! You're getting close! How'd you get that far away?" Like, what? You said I was close!
I fish so much, I’ve made it to 11th on the high score list.
The Hidden Treasure, along with the 3 ‘Find x in the Hustler box’, are things I do everyday, but have accepted the fact that I probably won’t be getting the achievements.
I'm at place 14 , same boat :P
Same chance as getting all blanks on a scratchcard, I presume? I've heard some people have that one too, but I also haven't gotten anywhere close on that one either.
As to how I found it, I was just roughly following the hot/cold prompts and randomly clicking. There was once a map guide made by a user that I used as well. Wish I wouldn't have lost it.

I like to fish at least daily, but often forget to for days at a time. Similar to 's remark, I find it troublesome that the clues are just a closer/farther binary. There aren't enough chances to guess for it to be worthwhile to have a very detailed warm/cold scale, obviously, but it would be nice if the clues gave just a little more direction, especially considering the scope of possible coordinates.

[/box]i used to fish several times a day. and while i did get a few pricey fish from it... the game telling me i'm a dumbass for being so far away (especially after it told me i'm getting closer the whole time) got on my nerves. it's apparently a single pixel that has the treasure so... nah.
Yeah, especially because you get so few turns, those clues are just so vague they're useless. Winning that game would be a lot more feasible if we got more turns, like leviathan harpooning. But then it would be even more boring, like leviathan harpooning lol. There are just entirely too many games here that rely on "click randomly and hope you get lucky." It's not particularly fun.
I have two out of the three Hustler achievements so I can at least assure you that it's possible, although extremely rare. Not sure if that helps at all but I wish you luck!
Yeah, I've scratched 3,632/5,000 scratchcards and have yet to get all blanks. I figure I'll be done with the whole scratchcard achievement before I get that one.
Just saw that single pixel comment. Wow, I had no idea.

Assuming is right and the treasure is a single pixel - the fishing board is 800x800, giving us 640000 possible answers. We get 5 guesses, and if clues are useless enough that it’s basically random guessing (fair IMO since Fishing is in the chance section, not the mind section), then the chance of finding the treasure is (51)/(800800) = 0.000007, or 0.0007% chance of winning.
How likely scratching all blank spaces on a scratchcard is really depends on the probability of each of the possible outcomes: blank, 1000 sP, 5000 sP, 15000 sP, random, stat boost, item, coin, and jackpot. If we guess wildly and say blank has a 20% chance of appearing, then getting 6 blanks has a (0.20)^6 = 0.00006 or 0.006% chance of happening. This is ten times likelier than winning fishing, but still a fraction of a percentage point. (This could be wildly wrong - if blank has a chance of appearing that’s more like 14% or lower, it could be less likely than winning Fishing!)
If you’re interested, the percent chance of getting some other pure luck achievements:
… it’s a slow day at work.

Hah, I'm still trying for Reflection as well. This isn't very hopefull :( (But I appreciate the math XD)
I actually have the all blanks achievement! I got it within my first five thousand cards that I scratched for the Scratcher achievement. I think a Calvin Blackmoon card was my "winner" of all blanks, but in my experience Maleria cards give more blanks than any other card. Honestly, each card seems to have different probabilities for each possible outcome, which would make figuring out the actual probability of all blanks... complicated, since the chance of a blank would be different for every card. ANYWAY, a lot of words to say "I did it, it's possible to scratch all blanks!"

Are your slow days at work always this productive? :D I do appreciate this breakdown of things! (How discouraging they might be notwithstanding, haha.... At least I happened to get the Divine Discs one pretty early on.)
All Blanks is another one I'm actively pursuing (well, to the tune of maybe 2 or 3 scratchcards a day, if I think of it - not counting any that Drills might assign). No luck yet, but I'm only up to 1400 cards so far.
[edit] Got All Blanks on the 20th of December, on my 2269th card.

[/box]yeah, i remember there being a thread about fishing not too long ago, here. in that thread stated that it's a single pixel with the prize. oh, also said the same in this thread. so i'm assuming this isn't an urban legend type deal, but yeah... super hard to win at any rate. :/
I appreciate you figuring all of that out! I'm too busy clicking random things to do the math. Still working on Mind Reader x7 every day too. I used to play Reflection and Divine Discs but I guess I gave up on those a while ago.
My experience aligns with what said about the different scratchcards. I have gotten 5 out of 6 blanks a few times and I think it was always with Maleria cards. Other cards do seem more likely to give better prizes and fewer blanks.
I wonder if they actually realize how unlikely all these achievements are to obtain. I'm not saying achievements should always be easy, of course, but these aren't challenging in the sense that they take skill, they just require you to be ridiculously lucky. I don't find that especially exciting to work toward, it's just frustrating.
I´ve stopped when it dawned on me that the treasure is a tiny single pixel.
I think it's been brought up the the achievement for games like Random Reflections is pretty much impossible, but I don't think anything ever came of it.
If you mean this one
