Also chiming in as a user who already has it that I would be totally down to lowering the number of users to something more attainable. Would be kind to both newer users and the servers, heh!

The maximum value that I have ever seen in 4 years was 700/800 and the site all crashed lol So I cant imagine 2000. One time I thought about create a group to find a date/hour to everyone comes and get that achieve. However, as I said, the site usually crash after 700 users online. So yes, I think 1000 it will be nice. Another way, it is a retired achieve for me :)

I remember one of the big drives to get to 2000 users years back. Can still remember the adrenaline rush when we hit it and how the boards went mad.

I'd support it going to 1000, or being retired - but achievements seem to be a pretty neglected area as of late so I can't see either happening.

I just checked my achievements and I don’t have this one either. (I’ve been a member for 15 years though so rip, somehow it slipped by me) I also agree that lowering the user count from 2000 to 1000 would make it slightly more attainable. I haven’t seen more than 1000 users online at once in several years so it will still be a very hard achievement to get.

I support lowering it! Tbh I think I got the achievement back when 2000 was no big thing, so I didn't even notice when it happened! I'd love for others to be able to get it!

hello, i just wanted to issue more support for this achievement being halved. there's a lot that, as users, we can control and work towards, like firing an insanely wicked number of snow balls, or reaching certain event tiers before they are retired. this goal is still fun, with an awesome forum title, but it's so unobtainable on such an uncontrollable user level that it just kind of feels bad to look at. lowering it to 1,000 could create some more fun user-run interaction, like mass billboarding to organize a date for everyone to log on or something cute like that. at 2,000, those efforts would feel pointless and disheartening. in the past ~35 days, i have never seen the number of online users above ~550, with the average typically being closer to 350 (definitely not hard data -- based only on when i've happened to click to my dashboard on whims). therefore, i think an achievement that doubles the current typical user count is still quiet impressive and fun to pine after!! we're not admitting defeat here, we're just getting with the times.

I already have the achievement (I actually missed it the first time we hit 2,000 users online, as the achievement wasn't quite activated, and I had to go offline before it'd been sorted :P) but I fully approve of lowering the number to 1,000 users online.

I've not seen us reach a thousand in years, so I think that would still require some co-ordination (much like we had for the original 2k one), but would make it more achievable rather than being utterly impossible like 2k is now!

I feel like there could definitely be another run of this one for those who missed it way back in the day. Maybe 750-1000 users, that seems reasonable enough. I don't usually see the Users Online jump above 500 nowadays, but I'm sure there's some achievable milestone.

I suggest changing the method of getting that achievement to something else instead. How about having 1500 achievements? That really sounds "super" to me and it also keeps the achievement difficult, while not being outright impossible any more.

I don't support changing the way to get it. Super User is something that was done via teamwork and encouraged people getting online. It encourages actual activity.

I do support lowering how many users to get it, though. 1000 users is fair.

I agree with many of the comments here - lowering it to 1000 seems reasonable. I haven't been around here long but I have never seen the site go above 600 users :(

I got this way back as 2000, but I do support lowering it to the suggested 1000. It’s been a long time since over 1000 users were online all at once.

It should definitely be lowered to 1k. When the achievement was created it wasn't "difficult" to get. It didn't require a lot of work or anything, you just had to log in at a busy time on a big holiday. I think most of us got it p much by accident, it was just a fun bonus cheev during events. It should be lowered so newbies have a shot.

I feel the 2k one should be retired and they just do a new one with a diff title/etc
