I was there and witnessed it when Lovecraft came at you with the razor! Eric and I are playing Star Wars The Old Republic right now and it is pretty fun. It is set many thousands of years before the episode 4. The story and graphics are beautiful.

Calendar days are closer than they appear! [item=mocking clock]
I didn't realize that Viorans were Sith...
Correction: meat SOLD OUT in all the stores. I went to buy veggies yesterday. It was MAYHEM but I do enjoy giving out smiles and happy cheer in all the madness. Just getting a shopping cart took 25 minutes (well, I had to do it twice... see, there was this ancient man trying to get one and he didn't seem to understand it's computerized and needs to be rented etc...I had 2 coins out so the second time went quick)
Very cute. I am sure you are in person also!
Did our cars REALLY look like that in the 70's? yikes.
Welcome to the Lair!
HAPPY ISRAEL INDEPENDENCE DAY

Welcome :)
Ah, that makes sense about the meat then. There are a few stores like that here too. I have a few quarters on hand just in case. Sometimes I give to the cart I was using to the next person it is tedious to get a 3 yr old from the basket, hold his hand to not wander off, and put the basket back lol.
I haven't seen Babylon 5 in so long. That might be the next series I watch. I'm watching Startgate Sg-1 again on Netflix and I am caught up on Doctor Who now since my sister in law is letting us use her HBO Max account. Another fun series was Farscape. Have you seen that one? It is about as old as Babylon and Stargate I belive.
I went to a thrift/vintage store one time and I saw the vhs tapes for the original 3 and I should have gotten them, but my husband said no. I should have gotten them anyway. I'm not overally happy about the added content in the original 3 that is on Disney Plus, but it is what it is.
Viorans aren't Sith, or anything really...
The are certainly a very creative figment then. :)
It took my husband and kids many years of persuasion for me to let go of the 300+ VHF videos I had acquired (even some tv tapes specials I can no longer find/get π’ ) Why can I not just KEEP [I]EVERYTHING[I] ?!?!?! LOL / sob
They'll always be Vioran, unless they want to stay. Thanks for the ping cuz...

[/box][/box]Oh noooo, that is so many seasons and episodes cries One would think it would be easier to find items we used to have back then, but apparently everyone is holding onto those precious items also.
Welcome to the Lair ~ the best place for fun times and warm bear hugs. π» β€
: There are so many things that you can get at a thrift store! I love to go to those places and antique stores! When I come down into the Valley on my holidays, I go "antiquing' with Glitter and Dannygyrrl and Ellepepper and we find all kinds of thingies! Dannygyrrl collects Corningware (shudder...cooking vessels!!!) Ellepepper collects pirate thingies and Glitter collects gumball machines. I don't have a collection, but the last time I went with them, I found 6 boxes of brand-new old-stock Turquoise graphite artist drawing pencils and they purchased them for me for $2 a box! That's 72 of the finest California Red-Cedar pencils, made in America in the 1960's for $12! That's better than Walmart for cheep foreign pencils. ( I don't know if you can tell, but I like pencils...) I also got a really cool antique medical device called Pinard Horn, used to detect feotal heartbeats. I will use this every day where I work. It's actually made from wood and is quite small. It's what healers used before there was ultrasound. I love thrifting and antiquing.
That is amazing! It is fun and amazing find those awesome deals on hard to come by items! I don't really collect much, but if something catches my eyes, I'll either buy it or admire it before putting it back. The last time I went to an antique/thrift store, I got some older toys for Michael and a step stool. I saw some older Golden Books, but I didn't get them cause he has so many at the moment and of course we haven't read them all yet. I also like the tea shops that are in the stores too. It is nice to sit down and have a cup of tea and small bites to eat :)
First thing mine got after coming back on.

I have two new stories that I'm currently working on and I want them finished now!
The first one is my first truly 'science fictiony' fantasy. It takes place in the near future in my world (Terra) and in my community (Glen Meadow, California.) The small animals are thriving during a prolonged period of Queen Frieda's reign. The Miner's Guild has entered into a contract with a humans for industrial grade garnet abrasives.
The animals discover a small, strange stone in the garnet mine that resonates various frequencies. When it fractures, it becomes a very small teleport that can move a pencil from one place to another, no mater how far the two halves of the stone are relocated.
Ultimately, they discover larger and larger stones with similar properties and succeed in using them to teleport large quantities of rock from the mine, leaving behind perfect cylindrical tunnels and large quantities of minerals ready to ship.
When vast quantities of high quality gold ore is discovered this way, the small animals become exceedingly wealthy without having to invest in large scale mining infrastructure. But when they discover that the portals can be telescoped into each other and tuned with different wave frequencies, they develop time travel and open up another pandora's box altogether. The small animals have discovered the remnants of an asteroid that crashed to Earth after passing through a Einstein-Rosen Bridge and each piece of it has the wormhole's properties.
If things continue they way they are going, the small animals will become the intellectual overlords over the humans. They will partner at first, where the animals develop the technology and the humans build it. But what happens in the end? Will this discovery threaten the very existence of the planet? Will the humans become extinct? Will Frieda ever have enough cookies?
I don't know, I only have the first two chapters written so far.
The second story is a short novella about my further experiences as a young apprentice during the time I was punished for stealing my Master's private journals.

I lost my citizenship, my apprenticeship, my rights as a 'free-creature' and lived my life as an unskilled laborer--a peasant. You could take away the title 'Lady' but you couldn't take away the 'Frieda.' Despite my newly-found low status, I remembered the things my mother taught me and still made friends and helped my fellow creatures as best as I could. Even if I had to sleep in a hammock in an unheated dormitory, bathe in a pond and pee at the end of the row of produce I was hoeing. Will Frieda ever be forgiven for such a heinous crime against her Master? Will she die ignominiously in an irrigation ditch in the strawberries? Will she ever be able to get the cockleburs out of her wee butt after squatting in a weed patch to have a potty? Why is she always the last one in the pond?
I have no idea. I only have the first two chapters written....
