What exactly is the benefit of doing the Mage quest? I got an amulet so I turned it in, but the item I got didn't seem particularly worth the trouble? is there a good item pool and I just got unlucky?
I'd appreciate some insight -u- thanks in advance
You can either get a shard or a tome. The shards are not worth much but if you are lucky enough to get the tome they are worth more since they are used for training.

But the shards aren't 100% useless. They can be used in weapon making
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
also the odds - you get 7-10 shards for every book...so don't panic if you get lots of shards. I usually save up a bunch of amulets and turn them in all at once, feels more productive that way :).
