the moment i read this, the image of a big ol' ferret running around my workspace came to mind, so i'm pretty sure that's the one

I’m so basic but I’d love to have my cat as my familiar. His name is Odin and he’s a big fluffy rag doll. Although I love him he would be the worst familiar. I’d ask him to grab some reagents for a spell/potion and he’d lazily swish his tail in indifference. Any ingredients sitting too close to a ledge would end up in the mix and just spoil the whole thing. But I could never get mad at him because he’s just too cute. He would be helpful as he’d probably have some sort of charm magic so I’d get some great deals from the local apothecary.

I would think a magical wolf or fox familiar would be mine. (o)/

I feel like my familiar would either be a raven or a cat for sure!

I want my familiar to be a large spider. His web would be useful, he could catch things to be reagents in spells, and he could protect my deep woods witch abode and eat any tax collectors who happened to come by. If he was fuzzy like a tarantula, he could also give me hugs when I'm feeling lonely. Eight legs = four hugs!

Rat seems like the obvious answer considering my username,,, but yeah a rat lol, intelligent, cute, good sense of smell, and able to sneak about to get those hard to find ingredients

An aquatic creature like a turtle would be so cute! But I also really love hamsters, I think they're super cute, and they move fast. I bet they would be able to forage things quickly.

I'd want a little bat. Or a highland cow. I'm allergic to cats unfortunately.

I am not super privy to what a familiar is supposed to be or do but a cobra keeps standing out to me so maybe one of those lol.

Definitely a large toad for me.
