Oh my! Do you live in Australia? Luckily we only have king snakes and mountain garter snakes up here at Lake Tahoe, both are totally non-venomous. Down in Washoe valley they have rattlesnakes, but they tend to stay in the lower elevations.

Forgot to tell you. Came home from shopping yesterday. Joey was behind a pot plant in a corner. Never seen him there before. Called to him but he didn't and out slithered a 5 foot brown snake that he proceeded to chase. Thank goodness that when we yelled at him he came away. Long story short, 1 dead snake, 1 rushed trip to the vet, $110 dollars later and tests were good, no bite. 1 very lucky little dog.

omg chookie baby that is such LUCKY ending!!! Ho terribly frightened you must be at that moment!. We had ratlesnacks here(not in this neihborhood..but where we used to live} this was quite awhile back. our cat(only pet) got bit and we were able to save her(the vet)..anitvenom and what not. They start puffing up and get all mushy where the bite was. God i am so thankful for sparing you guys! i still have no answer to your riddle..shrugs.
