I am definitely not a writer, but here goes! :)
Rain was pouring down as I ran after the city bus, but it was too late, I had missed it, and the next bus wouldn't arrive for at least an hour. I pulled my hood further over my face, cursing myself for forgetting my umbrella. This late at night almost nothing was open, but then I noticed a small shop across the street with the lights still on. Hoping to take shelter from the rain, I crossed the street and entered Meggido Magicks through a creaky door.
"Well," I said to myself, looking around the crowded, dusty shop, "at least it's dry in here." I peered closely at the nearest shelf, but quickly pulled back when I saw a collection of animal bones covered in cobwebs.
"Hello?" I called, "Is anyone here? I just need to wait out the rain indoors." I heard a clatter from the back of the shop and moved deeper through the shelves to investigate. At the end of a long aisle of dusty books with esoteric titles, I found the source of the noise. The shopkeeper was perched precariously upon a ladder, stocking jars filled with unidentifiable substances onto a high shelf. One had fallen and shattered, and another slipped from the shopkeeper's hand as I approached, but I caught it before it hit the floor.
"Thank you!" said the shopkeeper. "Dragon's scales are ever so expensive and I would have hated to lose them all!"
I explained that I was only escaping the rain, but the shopkeeper insisted I explore and pick out ten items in exchange for rescuing the jar of dragon scales from shattering. I selected these ten items:
Aww thank you so much, your pet is pretty inspirational! c: just wanted to give her a bit of love.
May I ask, for these item?
That is, I didn't see anything more I will want ❤ I wish you good luck in the stage in your life!!

Maelstrum This is a bit long.. sorry I got carried away 😅
On shaky legs Lord Maelstrum marched in like he owned the gallery. His presence commanded the room. A ruthless general—an infamous war criminal—he was preceded by his reputation. He didn’t look at any of them; he knew their fearful faces would enrage him, thought the groveling pathetic. As if he would waste his energy attacking civilians. He was on a mission, a very important mission to find new…parts. You see, Lord Maelstrum was powerful, yes; his life was sustained by the Force and his livelihood was fueled by spite. But his body had failed long ago, necessitating the procurement of replacement parts.
Megiddo Magicks advertised itself as a collector of all things odd. Curios, crystals, and conduits…minerals, medicines, and something referred to as “menagerie…” and of course, bones and animal products. Lord Maelstrum couldn’t afford to be picky with what species he got his parts from. In his golden days he sacrificed live victims to his surgical transplants but now he was forced to be so undignified as to resort to stealing bones from a museum. As part of an elaborate deal for his immortality he was usurped by his apprentice and banished to live among commoners. A true Sith to the very end, he would do anything to survive, even to his own detriment.
Wandering between precariously stacked shelves and meticulously sorted display cases, the ghoulish general groaned each time he breathed. He made a mental note to find a black market surgeon and at least one new lung. And he thanked every door frame, each one a chance to pause and catch his breath. Every room he entered cleared of gallery guests within seconds. He was thankful today that people knew him, feared him. If he could avoid questions his mission would go more smoothly.
The building was massive and labyrinthine, filled to the ceiling with a lifetime of treasures. A shame they’d be relieved of a few relics today. He spotted a sign that read, “Bone Zone,” chuckled at the name and coughed, spitting blood on the floor. He looked around until he saw a security camera and mouthed, “Sorry,” dripping with sarcasm.
Turning down the passage to the bone zone he bumped into the apparent owner of the museum, just as strange as their surroundings with bone tattoos and dark makeup. He wondered for a moment whether he’d have to explain himself, but the curator hurried past muttering something about leaving. “This might be easier than I thought,” Lord Maelstrum whispered, wheezing. He trudged onward.
Before his very eyes a room materialized, a beautiful room full of bones! Skeletons from all sorts of creatures. He measured himself up next to a skeletal spider and a centipede of the same variety, genuinely surprised by their existence, though he’d never admit it. Then he compared his limbs to those of a few bone fairies and other humanoid beings. There were hybrid animals, unnatural taxidermy projects, like a bird-faced dog and a reassembled chicken. He nodded approvingly. Pleased by what he found he took one last stroll around the room before rounding up his treasures.
With a swirl of his hand the bone critters all collected themselves into a neat pile. Another slight movement and they were floating after him through the halls. Back out the door, smiling again at the “Bone Zone” sign; through dusty stacks and sparkling displays, careful not to let his mass of parts knock anything over. None of the civilians allowed themselves to look at him, so they never knew what happened at the gallery that day. The curator, however, watched Lord Maelstrum proudly march those bones right out the front door, on the screens of an extensive security system…laughing at the sight!
Ah, that was a lot of fun :3 what a creative giveaway!! Now I have more character stuff for my pet too, thank you for the excuse to write! I would greatly appreciate any of these items:
I'm not a well-practiced writer, so I feel a little inspired to write something a tad self-indulgent. I'm sorry for any mistakes... And I thank you for the writing opportunity! Unfortunately, I'm a little embarrassed, so I hope you don't mind that I hide it behind a spoiler...

I watched as Missa thumbed through a few antiquated books, glossing over their contents for anything relevant to his work. Behind the blue-tinted lens of his specs, eyes darted back and forth as he assumed a casual, but focused demeanor. I stood beside him, occasionally taking a glance to whatever he was doing, but more often I found myself drawn in by our surroundings.
I knew that Missa had often left on errands in his free time, leaving for shops of interests and whatever provided the necessary tools for his work in exorcism. Before today, I never joined him on these excursions, so I thought I'd make a change... The first shop he pulled me to was fairly overwhelming. For a rustic, hole-in-the-wall establishment, Megiddo Magicks had quite the impressive collection going. Aside from the volumes of books which Missa fixated, the wooden shelves were also lined with mystic bottles, goods of strange energy, and foreign objects I couldn't make head nor tails of. This wall was just a portion of the what the shop had to offer overall.
As I quietly gawked at the baffling inventory, Missa looked up from the book in his hand. It was a worn thing, which detailed the behaviors of demons. He then looked over to me, realizing I may have felt a bit out of place. Closing the book and tucking it under his arm, he turned to me. "Ren, there's a section not too far from here where curious creatures reside", Missa spoke, as if he took pity on me. "Would you like to go and see them with me?" His proposal caused my cheeks to flush red as I nodded enthusiastically. I didn't mean to think this as a date, but my rotten brain couldn't help but feel this was a moment of rare intimacy from Missa.
Along the way to the menagerie, we held a decent conversation about the oddities found around the shop. We also shared a chuckle over how much Lapitu would have clamored over the large stock of crystals. Much to my embarrassment, Missa took note of several items I took a shine to—A dark candle with a nice scent, a skull adorned with beautiful succulents, one tin of tea, the wing of a pigeon, spare buttons for Paku, a carved rose, the glow of a wild crystal, a night themed pen set, one tacky keychain, even candy—and offered to purchase them as thanks for accompanying him.
Knowing denying him would be fruitless, I accepted the offer. Missa then smiled at me, contented, which caused a certain kind of happiness to swell in my heart. I tried to hide it, showing a small smile in return.
As we headed on to check-out, I caught the glimpse of a Cream Sheeta who seemed to be tending to the inventory. We locked eyes briefly and within that moment, it felt as if she had a look on her face which knew my feelings all too well.
That was longer than I meant for it to be, I think... Here are the items I'd like that I mentioned in the story!

The town center Christmas lights are wrapped around snow draped trees are timed to various Christmas carols, and red poinsettia leaves are peeking through in pots and hanging baskets lining the streets. The town center was bustling with villagers, gleefully going in and out of shops collecting their last minute gifts for loved ones. As they walk around sipping fresh hot cocoa, stiff black coffee, and munching the softest sugar cookies you'll ever get from the various Christmas vendors, you bump into one in particular who quietly whispers the words "Megiddo Magicks" and points to a darker area at the end of the cul-de-sac where a shop sign is hanging only by a single chain, no Christmas decor in the windows it looks almost barren. As your interest is now peaked, you make your way cautiously to the shop, which at first looks to be closed.
As you step up to open the doors, a small haunting melody plays and the doors silently creep open. You hesitantly walk inside to find rows and rows of alchemy ingredients, tombs, scrolls, miscellaneous gems and otherworldly mementos. Even though you have the hairs on the back of your neck standing up, you find yourself compelled to continue through and, almost magically, you find you have a handful of items in a cart that you don't remember picking up .... Then you hear a small voice at the back of the shop which says "Welcome, please find what finds you" quizzically you laugh, and make your way back to the cashier named Tel Megiddo, he seems very pleased with all the items you have in your cart. "Looks like the treasures found you!" he says excitedly~
As you step outside the shop now with bags of goods, the windows go dark and the sign creaks in the wind .... it feels like you've been out forever, when in reality only a mere couple of minutes had passed in the store. Shortly thereafter, you are walking back up the cul-de-sac to grab a last minute bite to eat when the same vendor who passed you earlier now bumps into you again and says "Merry Lumineve you"
You look through your bags and find
❤

Hello! Here's my little bit of prose..
Megiddo Magicks, a name that feels you with curiosity. I finally found it one night, stumbled upon it really by chance. It looked simple yet had a mystical air about it from the outside. I ventured inside to find that it was larger than it seemed and indeed was very magical. There were so many things on display I didn't know where to begin! There were potions, herbs, medicines, bones, and a most glorious study. The study was filled with antique furniture, and surrounded by skull votive candles. Here I find the owner who invites me to drink spiced pumpkin tea - it smells glorious! I take a seat and admire the various items around the room like the majestic but apparently broken clock, and a strange thing in a jar. The owner walks over with a very ornate-looking tea cup and asks what 10 items I seek. I make the following request...
Thank you so much, that was pretty fun c: Wishing you all the best and Happy Holidays!! ❤️
I don't mean to alarm you, but Tel is a she. I'm not sure WHAT you just ran into. I guess we're both lucky that whatever it was it was benign, and it only BORROWED her face! Enjoy your well-earned lot right here: link
Thanks so much for the company! I always end up brewing a bigger pot than my pets and I can drink. I'm sure Tel or Fresno would like to have you over even after I leave. In the meantime here's your lot! link
Thank you so much ❤️ The tea does sound like it would be really lovely 😋 and I'm sure Tel and Fresno would be great company 💕
The wind was blowing like crazy on an incredibly chilly night in Shadowglen. I took a left down a tree-lined path and stopped to rest behind a brick wall. Leaning against the brick wall, I felt the "wall" give way and I stumbled backwards into a building that was largely hidden and overgrown into by the trees. Regaining my composure, I figured I'd wait out the gusts inside. I saw some cute aisle signs with the header of "Megiddo Magicks" and subtitles like "Spellcraft," "Conduits," and oh -- "Animal Stuff!" I thought I could pick something up for Hana for Luminaire. Well, I quickly realized that was not the intent of this aisle nor locale and quietly laughing to myself, I shuffled off to "Lore" for some reading to pass time. I got lost in a tale and my reading trace was broken by the shopkeeper's tap on my shoulder. My smile was a question mark and the keeper said "it's almost midnight dear, you're invited back anytime but you can't stay past midnight!" Whoops. Profusely apologized and made my way to the counter, explaining how I got there in the first place. The shopkeeper smiled and said that as I was a courteous guest, I could pick out some things from a bin behind the counter*. I thanked them profusely for making Lumi brighter and made my way out just before 11:59!
thank you, that was fun! :)
Taking a crack at this, we'll see how it goes.
The Shadowglen clouds welcome us with the drizzliest of downpours; I pull the edges of my hood forward to ward off the worst of the rain. With the push of a dilapidated door, a pockmarked bell rings with a dull clanging sound. Cobweb tendrils hang from the ceiling and the air is musky with--dust? decay? long-dried herbs? It was hard to tell. A pale Tigrean slips in after me, almost ghost-like, right as the door is closing. She shakes the rain from her fur, flicking droplets off her paws in a most lady-like manner. I motion her to move farther into the shop, "Well Sams, let's hope we find what we're looking for." She shoots me a discontented glance in response. This'd better be worth the rain. She slinks in, her head occasionally popping up between displays to stare at glimmering wares. She never surfaces for more than a second at a time, quickly back on the move. I walk up to the empty shopkeep's counter, marvelling at the scattered scrolls and crystals. Even in the weak light streaming in from grimy windows, they dimly shine under a generous coating of dust. "I wouldn't have expected such a well-known occult emporium to fall under disrepair like this. Wonder where the shopkeep is." I move to dust off one of the rumpled scrolls on the counter-- A stern voice interrupts: "I wouldn't touch just whatever around here, if I were you. Also, you're dripping all over the shop." I flinch slightly in shock, quickly scanning for the source of the sound. "Right here, buddy." A ghostly apparition of a figure continues polishing the chalice in their hand. "The real shopkeep's gone. My enchantment tends to be a bit hit or miss these days on what I can and can't physically touch, so pardon the disarray. It's been a few years since they up and left." Without missing a beat, the apparition gives me a nonchalant shrug, "So what can I help you with?" I press my lips together for a moment before asking, "You wouldn't happen to have anything regarding how to free captured fey, would you?" The ghostly shopkeep shakes their head, but a graceful looking Sheeta, a apparition similar to the shopkeep, perks up from behind the counter. "Ah, hm. That's unfortunate. Well, I might as well grab a change of jacket and some goodies for some of the pets back home. Gylfie would be plenty happy with any star spangled trinket, really. I'm sure Jillion would love the picnic basket and playset--" I continue prattling on, until a small collection is amassed before me. Within the variety of items are: Sougara Shiver Chainring Earring Spotless Varsity Jacket Swirling Twirling Galaxy The Court Jesters Misery Bound Jeweled Belt Ziara Zeppelin Tours Poster Subject Cryotube Glass Shards Sustainable Wooden Forest Playset Vesnali Picnic Basket Winterscale Scarf Swamp Mud
As we prepare to leave, the ghostly cream sheeta awaits us at the door. She pulls the door open and slips out after us. Back out in the damp Shadowglen air, she bounds for the hills. Atop a shelf of rock, she stares back at us expectantly. ... Is she waiting for us to follow?
Sorry about that book! I try to keep locks on the really dangerous stuff but I've only got so many of those things. Glad you made it home safe though! You'll find your goods waiting for you: link
Thank you for your help. I'm not worried about leaving Shadowglen behind knowing Tel still has people she can trust. Your reward is right here! link
